  1. I used the local Signzone. Asked for silver metallic. They're a little too similar to the frame, but I think the frame will darken a bit over time. The wheels made the biggest difference. They're 1650 grams and 25mm internal. Bike feels much more nimble now.
  2. Finally got it done. Carbon wheel set. New crank. Stealth silver decals. Ended up spraying it with satin clear coat.
  3. I can't bring myself to spray over this...
  4. Mmm. I did a lot of research on this, and that's what I heard - high quality car polish over clear coat.
  5. After doing some (depressing) calculations to see about a new bike, I decided to rather pimp up my old Zero29. I'd added a 120mm X fusion Trace fork a month or two ago, and have now ordered a set of carbon rims too. Finally, I want to polish the frame up again & put new decals on. So yesterday I stripped the bike down, ripped the old decals off and started sanding. Will post updates as I go. This is frame 006.
  6. Funny, I've been toiling with this with my Pyga. One of the best things about a Pyga is the design should put you in the centre - a balanced position on the bike. I put a 160mm fork on my 120, and all of a sudden its a dog to pedal. The back doesn't sit up and its lost the pop that it had. I figure I'll drop the fork to 140 and play with spacers.
  7. This rack fits 4 downhill bikes, with wheels - and not touching. Super simple. But foreign.
  8. I don't mind turning the bars, its the seat-stays hitting the fork of the adjacent bike that makes it impossible. Now with Boost it's even harder. Thule's 3 bike rack, as you say, is a 2 bike rack. I'm not paying that sort of money again.
  9. Wanting to revive this thread. I have a Thule 3 bike rack, but it cannot fit 3 adult mtbikes (even with seats and bars removed). I see that Buzzrack has 20cm gaps between tyre trays, to Thule's 17. Can anyone comment on the latest Buzzrack models? Not wanting to start an after sales rumpus, just wanting comments on usability.
  10. I watch those tests just to see the fork flex.
  11. Not specifically bike related, but I trust you guys have seen this series? If you havn't its really worth watching.
  12. Big wheels, flip the chip. 35% sag and it's a 29er.
  13. Nooort! Hier kom ***. Holding out... holding out.
  14. Its amazing how different each of those Zero frames were. Mine has a totally different routing config.
  15. I've seen that bike before, but I can't place it. I've got one too, but with standard decals.
  16. Does anyone know the standard shock spec for the old 140 Pascoe?
  17. What was the difference?
  18. Off point slightly, but Sam Hill wins the first EWS of the year, and not one home page article... Overridden by all the Cape Epic mania.
  19. I thought as much. Last time I was climbing up to Bruisers Burn I noticed a sneaky little trail to the left.
  20. So which route is the Trailblazer now? Is it open to ride? I coudn't make it.
  21. For over R2000 a year lets hope so!
  22. There is not that much to maintain when comparing venues. It's more what you get for that money. At Holla you're riding on private farms. There are hardly any trail features. There is one proper berm at Holla for eg. So then I start asking what is that money actually for? When I go to Karkloof for example, I can ride amazing trail features till I puke, table tops, flow/berms, doubles, gaps etc etc. In my book Karkloof is an amazing deal. Holla is now a stand-out because you're paying 3 times the norm, and for very little else.
  23. But can you compare it aside from the money? Lifts, for a start. A Line... etc.
  24. I'm interested to see what riders pay, per annum and per day at various riding venues in South Africa. There seems to be a big difference in what you pay, and what you get for it. Money vs length of trail, trail features etc. What is the norm, and how much is too much? In my experience (KZN): Karkloof: R580 a year R50 per day. Giba: R960 a year R65 per day. Holla: R2197 a year R60 per day
