  1. Shhh. The first rule of Fight benefit is that you don't talk about Fight benefit.
  2. Article about good and bad cycle lanes around the globe. I only post is because of the picture of a cape town cycle lane... https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2019/jun/27/do-i-risk-it-your-photos-of-the-worlds-best-and-worst-cycling-infrastructure
  3. Yesterday, I was recovering form a batchelor's party when I set off on my recovery ride. I passed the stragglers on the R44 as they were heading to the finish line and I think they all looked better than I felt. Lots of respect to the group pulling children in carts all the way around, that must have been hard work.
  4. A Chelsea Napoli final would be the Sarri derby. That would be interesting
  5. Me too, although i wasn't sick, just decided to take it easy and enjoy myself this year.
  6. You mean the well known mentally strong PSG who never choke?
  7. I guess my view is influenced by working at a university where every student who fails an exam is a barrack room lawyer and and goes running to the ombud if they feel that the rules are ambiguous. Intent is never taken into account.
  8. An ebike is human powered, just also has some extra juice. Not saying they should be allowed, but that rule is ambiguous.
  9. That's strange. I started at 8.40 in 5C and the route to NM Boulevard was completely free, I guess the later groups are full of first timers who don't have the experience of getting through that choke point, but its a bit weird that there was such a long delay only an hour after I started.
  10. Agree to an extent. Absolutely the clubs need to be fined, but I think closed door games at this point would be an overreaction. After all, the fact we are commenting on it shows how rare this has become.
  11. Romulus and Remus innit. Suckled by a wolf then founded Rome (according to Roman mythology). The ancients did things differently.
  12. I suspect the World cup, UEFA cup and 9 Serie A medals will help cushion the disappointment. What a player.
  13. I took part in the 45km route at the STBB mountain bike race a few years ago and started feeling ill about a third of the way around, so decided to do the 30km instead. There wasn't any control so I got a fantastic time for the 45km, which gave me a much better seeding for a couple of years. Now, unfortunately, all surpassed by my times reverting to the mean.
  14. I think Koulibaly might be worth that for Man U. A great leader in defense is something they are lacking and I suspect they have noticed how van Dijk has solidified the Liverpool defense.
  15. As long as they don’t put any rugby posts in the middle of the road, she’ll be fine.
  16. I agree, although I think you get put into a draw and have the very small possibility of winning something worthwhile
  17. Ive been phoned up three times by Discovery in the past week asking if I want a quote for car insurance from them. I assume this is because of the Vitality open where they can assess my driving behavior and they have decided I am a good risk, but i really hate being cold called like this. Is there any way i can get them to stop calling? (And please don't say take out insurance with them)
  18. I have a similar issue, but it also seems to pick up when i am on my road bike and thinks that I am driving, Not all the time but enough so that get some bonus km's every week without driving. Now i just need to cycle more and remember not to slam on the brakes of my road bike.
  19. My memories of cycling in Denmark when I lived there was that there was always a headwind. Whatever direction you cycled. I also had the one hill in the country to cycle up getting to Roskilde station on my way home.
  20. Not only in cycling: "Mark Spitz is quoted as saying, "When I went to the Olympics, I had every intention of shaving the moustache off, but I realized I was getting so many comments about it—and everybody was talking about it—that I decided to keep it. I had some fun with a Russian coach who asked me if my moustache slowed me down. I said, 'No, as a matter of fact, it deflects water away from my mouth, allows my rear end to rise and make me bullet-shaped in the water, and that's what had allowed me to swim so great.' He's translating as fast as he can for the other coaches, and the following year every Russian male swimmer had a moustache."
  21. I've always seen it as a funride, but i also think its human nature to try and go round something like the CTCT route as fast as possible. I doubt it will be possible to stop that, especially when the weather plays along.
  22. Haven't heard of anybody else. I would contact them, they should be able go arrange for a board for you to collect at the Grand Parade (or just stick it to some cardboard)
  23. You don't need it, just the timing chip, number on the back of your shirt, and board on the front of the bike. I worked out that they printed my stickers on the wrong side, oh well I'll stick them on
