  1. crest - light and strong
  2. Unclip left - fall over right.
  3. OPC - just analysed the results. You must be the 4th guy from our bunch that we dropped on the last hill.......
  4. Listen CHOP! You are referring to my time! P*SS off and get a life before you start randomly choosing people to accuse of foul play.
  5. On the tri bars - a set of alu tri bars does not need to cost the earth - check out CRC. This is a worthy addition as it gives you a more aero position on the bike. Remember no drafting at IM, so a better bike position will make a difference over a 180km course. With the wetsuit I agree with Mitri. One of those things you just have to bite the bullet and buy. You'll use it for quite a few seasons. I've had the same suit since 05 and its still going strong.
  6. I did not go to JHB expecting KZN single track, but I think the route builders could look for a few sections to build single track on. Karkloof started a few years ago, adding to the route each year. It is now one of the best marathons out there with a bull run of note. I will be back but think the organsiers should have a long term plan to develop the race into a top notch course.
  7. Expo was superb.... I bough an energy gel ......and I got two pamphlets. I felt quite tired after walking from one end to the other.
  8. I must be the luckiest oke on the hub. My wife lets me buy the bikes and supports me in my racing. It keeps me sane and she knows that. When it comes to the cost - I just tell it like it is. If its R5k I say its R5k then she knows the truth. Her finding out I lied about the price of a bike part will be may more destructive that whatever I spent. The counterpoint is that when I'm not on the bike - I am home with my wife and kids.
  9. Colorific deficit - less going in than going out = weight loss - simple truth. Diet of lean proteins, green salads, limited carbs and fats, lots of water and as little "excess" as possible. Watch for high carb veg and fruit - which can add up the calories.
  10. If Contador had NOT done something wrong would we have been debating this for 16 pages? Would the crowed still have boo'd him at the podium? Would SKY, CNN et al be running repeated slow mo replays etc etc... Would he be defending himself? Would Schlek still be angry? Obviously he has done something considered unsporting by the wider audience out there...
  11. Maybe Specsavers can send Contador some glasses so he can see Yellow when he rides past it. Not just a bad sport but a liar as well. Long may the booooo's continue.
  12. It's got squat to do with Lance. He's not the only one who waited. When Lance got pulled down by a spectator, Ulrich waited if memory serves me correct. The point is no one seems to care much about being a true sportsman. Its all about the drugs, the politics, who can point a finger at who....
  13. Lance waited when Ulrich took a somersault down the side of the ride. Ulrich's fault - Armstrong still waited. It's about the sportsmanship! I dont care if Contador stuffs the whole field up (although I would prefer someone else)- but the point is do it fairly.
  14. I have a white set laced to Chris King hubs - they're awesome. I find they seal very well - just make sure you get the proper Stans rim tape. Light and it works! Happy trails bru.
  15. This is a sport.... i.e. there should be sportsmanship! Contador showed his true colours today. Gutless! What a waste of talent on such a poor sport! Somehow the Armstrong/Ulrich/Pantani battles seem to have more class. Forget who won or lost. There was a dignity which prevailed under the same circumstancs.
  16. No way.... erm weigh.... erm ....
  17. So 690mm is not waaay out then?
  18. Is there some sort of standard width for a specific discipline?
  19. But despite the Bar Ones getting narrower, they still make my hips wider.... Makes no sense.
  20. I have always ridden a 600mm handle bar 0n my cross country bikes. Got the new Anthem X Advanced SL0 and it has a 690mm bar. Felt sooooo wide to start with but I have heaps more confidence on this bike. Anyone know what the thinking is behind bar width.....
  21. It would be interesting to see how our pro's cope with 200km plus events. There is a big gap between the local scene and international scene and only a handful of our pros really measure up. Think Robbie Hunter, Burry Stander and the like who are performing amongst the best in the world. Burry was 13 minutes ahead of the 3rd rider at Karkloof with Kevin Evans second about 3 minutes back. That is a huge gap by pro standards indicating that the rest of the pro field are not quite up to scratch. That said cycling has moved forwards over the past few years and the top races really are becoming world class events. Where SA is unique is that we have such a large field of fun riders and "league/age group" riders who also compete weekly and it will be really difficult to separate the two. I quite like the fact that I can compare myself directly with the top fish in our pond. Our local "pros" need to accept that they will always be racing in and around the fun riders and remeber that they were once also just weekend warriors with ambitions!
  22. Can you use these to get okes off the single track when they ride half your speed and refuse to move over...... Handle bar mount please!
  23. R750k for a photo - seems a bit on the high side to me. Would be interesting to know the rate for a well known model for a shoot. Not likely to be that high.
  24. Formula R1 - Just Awesome if you can stretch the budget a bit! CRC had them for R2096 per side last week.
  25. Check out ay up lights www.ayup-lights.com They are in competition with the sun!
