  1. Was there at 7:30 and the line was very long, poor people with late entries first had to queue for a entry form, then queue again for a bike number. This is typical of Entry Ninja events; I have taken it up with them time after time. No result. Yes, all done online. I detest giving any money to CSA so I avoid it where I can, but this time I did pay for that too online. Last year I told then "Ja. I'll come pay that now my wallet is in the car, just give me my number 🤫" The problem is they had one list of online entries and one person marking your name off. That does not work. You need at least 3. Nonetheless it was an awesome ride, so far I have done the long at Slanghoek, the short at Botha and the long at Du Toit. I look forwards to doing the long at Botha next time that is on the calendar.
  2. It was good - but being Entry Ninja the registration was woefully slow....
  3. All with a permit. Bottelary Hills Renosterveld Conservancy - Bottelary Hills Renosterveld Conservancy (bottelaryconservancy.co.za)
  4. To Kaap Agri in Simondium. Riding with 5kg of washing powder on your back is something new.
  5. Yup - nice sub you have in the boot, good tunes too! I did wave and say hi 😀
  6. Will do. For those that have never ridden Wintervogel :
  7. This was my 10th 99er. Loved! I did the 100km last year on my 26er MTB. Today it was the 29er on some gravel. Next year I hope they have an option that included the scenic Wintervogel road to Kalbaskraal.
  8. Same. Will be my 10th 99er.
  9. Absolutely lovely. Rode it on a hard tail with steel toe safety boots which afforded me the opportunity to ride where other pushed 😉
  10. That was absolutely perfect. My 8th Durbie Dash - not my fastest, still a great day out. Perfectly organised as always.
  11. Aye, this is only my 2nd RaceTec board. Got it at the 2015 Procupine Ridge MTB after my first one got stolen along with my 2014 Giant Revel.
  12. I have done this each year since 2014. The waterpoints I remember are next to the Vissershok/Malanshoogte crossing, another about 1km up Malanshoogte when coming back. I think one at Meerendal and Signal Gun before the final climb.
  13. I find the registration process to be a bit less eco-friendly the past two years. Why should I drive their twice? Not to mention the petrol cost. Thankfully I figured out last year that just entering and starting at the right time will still get you results - just remember your racetec board.
  14. Pffft, been riding CTCT on a 26er MTB for years now.
  15. I'm preparing myself mentally for a 5 hour ride...
