  1. Really - perhaps you could point out just one. Coming second in a vuelta d'espagna time trial leaving from Granada. A bit more hig level race even then this one Just remembered this post. Forgive me if I take ALL Vuelta performances with a dollop of salt. Roberto Heras blitzing the competition in his final "win" at the last TT, a splendid example.
  2. Wise words..... in fact verrrry wise words. The disclaimer of course is that we don't want the Japanese to make it as their labour is also too expensive. I'm thinking China, Taiwan, Malaysia when I see East.
  3. I would like Campag even better if it were made in the East. Then it would be cheaper (and probably better) than a bunch of overpaid Italians could produce. 101% - I know you guys pay (although a lot less than most) for your bikes. We had this discussion a year or two ago.
  4. Clean it and then we'll let you know.
  5. Cherise is riding with Evans, George and Heymans. Nhlapo and TitusTi may have to be roped in as well.
  6. I take it that you dont know the new sponsor? No not a drug manufacturer but pity because that would be rather funny. Maybe its Banji's Consultancy.
  7. Not much chance of being taken out by a taxi in that puddle.
  8. In Melbourne (certainly in the areas I rode in) a similar policy applies to most one ways. One way streets are marked as one-way except for bicycles. In many cases, the linked bike paths go the wrong way down one way street. There are markings in the latter case, but generally marked space is provided for bicycles on all roads.
  9. Trek costs more than the bikes that Giant make for themselves. The bikes that Trek actually make (ie their top end carbon frames) are way overpriced in comparison to the other carbon offerings out there. There are a few die-hard Trek fans (like 101% and co), but when you get your bike for free it is easy to be a fan.

    MTB Pedals

Do what Mampara says and get the Look pedals. Basic Quartz - best pedals I've had. If you want a set of used Eggbeater SL's make me an offer.
  11. Who is everyone? Evans, Sastre, Menchov, Valverde, Cunego, Schleck(s) will all be there.
  12. On today's form Valverde will have no trouble at all. He should win the time trials and will probably finish near the front in the mountain stages.
  13. Really - perhaps you could point out just one.
  14. A few weeks ago we were talking about the rather remarkable performances of the "out of form" and "beach holiday"ing Alberto Contador. Well, I think we are seeing a truly extra-terrestrial performance from Valverde at the Dauphine. Having never come close to beating Leipheimer in a time trial (their head-to-head record was 9-0 to Leipheimer), Valverde was able to win the Dauphine's first ITT. Clearly the docs that have replaced Fuentes have some very special preparation techniques.
  15. Shame - poor Matt, losing out on his lover... and his leading lady.
  16. That was just coincidence - sorry to destroy the conspiracy theory. I think it was Mallo that promised more info - perhaps you can PM him directly.
  17. No, it was deleted because it clearly does not present all the facts (although most of you could see that straight away). I have suggested that a more balanced post be added by those in the know (ie Malcolm and/or Doug) - but that is really up to them whether such a post is added.
  18. Then almost certainly not compact. The BCD (bolt circle diameter) is shown on the crankbolt, if memory serves me correctly. If it says 110BCD then it is a compact, if it says 130BCD (again if memory serves - I think Shimano is 135BCD) then it is a standard crankset.
  19. You use the joystick/jogwheel much like you can do on some laptops. Not my favourite either, but then I'm not a big fan of touchscreens.
  20. Pro is for touchscreen PDA type phones, standard is for the non-touchscreen phones. Mobile Office on the pro version also allows easier creation of new documents (officially standard onlyallows you to edit existing documents) plus a few other minor benefits. Rather look at the specs of the phone than the OS and what "form factor" (ie the physical shap of the phone).
  21. Isn't it a bit ironic to use Chimera after the Tyler Hamilton story.
  22. Sounds like when I fell at Sani2C - bleeding arm, bruised leg and cracked bike frame - some chop yells that the corner I was on was not "a safe place to stop".
