My first 305 came from my son in the UK as a birthday present. It started with the switching off thing and I took it to Avnic. They replaced it, no problems. Same happened with the 3rd one. Took it in and said I didn't buy the thing to be repaired every week. Paid R1800.00 and walked out with a 705! I can not complain about the service at Avnic. I do think however that their response is is directly equivalent to the customers attitude!

I came across some pic's of a painted frame. I think it looks very nice.

Although I had my fare share of problems, I still believe it is worth having. I don't think you are going to have less problems with other products with the same features.

I gave back three 305's to Avnic because of this, and I am on my second 705 because of HRM problems.

HRM stops working...or it's my heart busy packing it in. Somehow something goes wrong, I am really puzzled.

I have been back 4 times. They have replaced my unit every time and delivery is very quick. As far as maps are concerned, depends on the bundle you bought. If it contained maps, they will replace with maps, if only base map, you get base map. If you want topographical maps like 2009, you go buy the CD for R9.95 and then buy unlock code on internet when installing.Schwynn2009-09-28 14:23:17

Yes, I enjoyed going over boys drive, stopping in the middle of the peleton to fix my DR. My ears are still ringing and my backside is still hurting trying to get cycling shoes out of it. Oh yes, and where we had to go slow, sorry to the people that got heart attacks when I flew past. Somebody must have tampered with my brakes, there were none!!!

There are a lot of hubbers with bicycles costing more than these idiot's cars. I saw a guy mention that we don't pay to use the road as cyclists, what a brainless statement! There must be a good reason why we are not members of such a pathetic, thoughtless, brainless bunch of idioms!!!

It's always bad to hear about something like this. Yesterday I was out riding when a Concrete truck passed so close to me that I almost fell. If I say close, I mean so close I am almost sure I felt it brush my shoulder and this guy was going like stink!!

Best is to phone the guys at Avnic and ask them. All this software is still a mystery to me.
