  6. Are you talking about the LL headlamp (H7R) or the 220 lumen torch (M7)? You also mention that the M7 cannot be mounted to the helmet, I have managed to do it with cable ties and the supplied belt clip. A bit heavy, but I have moved it more to the centre and now its 100%. With the M7 on the helmet and 1400 (claimed) lumen Magic shine, I have enough light. Will have to figure out a why to increase battery life though. Will not last for the TB, I don't think.
  7. Ok, you convinced me. Steel is better, thats why all the pro riders ride it.
  8. so if you were riding a similar bike at the attakwas with a carbon frame, you would also have pushed? I know that the steel frame thing is back in fashion, but I seriously doubt it will provide the best solution to most riders on this forum. I also doubt that it climbs better than a carbon bike with the same geometry but which is lighter.
  9. No answer? thought so! Rode with a guy with a steel niner, and he is changing it to carbon. weighs less, absorbs more. To be fair, I haven't been on a steel frame since my 1992 Le Jeune with Reynolds 531 tubing, but carbon makes more sense, or at least to me it makes more sense.
  10. I hear what you are saying, but if you want to demo an Audi R8 or a merc SLS, you will have some problems doing that at many merc and Audi Dealers. It does not make financial sense to have all the bikes they can sell available as demos, especially the top end stuff. The solution will be for the suppliers to have some demo stock that gets moved through the country and visit the bike shops they supply on certain dates. They inform their clients, and the bike gets booked out for that customer for that time. Just as an example, you cant expect your LBS to have demo stock of a Spec epic 29er, a tallboy, a Cannondale Scalpel 29er (when they come) etc etc. You can not compare our market with the UK and US. They sell 1000's of those bikes compared to our 100's. that is also why they have the try before you buy days, because they do not expect LBSs to carry all the demo stock. just my 2c.
  11. I would guess price and longevity.
  12. Decided to go with the RR SNAKESKIN. Was a free replacement, so will give them another chance. That bead is so tight, cant believe the previous one jumped of the rim.
  13. Disagree, for any company the order of importance will be: 1-win 2- let the sponsored rider use the product that we want to push. They would have been much happier with a win on a 26er than 3rd on a 29er. Scott also make 29ers and I guess they want to sell them as well...but a win is more important
  14. why was het not able?
  15. From my understanding XC is not where a 29er really comes to its own. Some XC courses are more suitable, but the most will be better suited for 26er. Marathon on the other hand, is more suited to 29er. You sound surprised that the Leftys made it?
  16. Maybe i will look at the contis again. Are there also different vesions (ust, tubeless ready, foldable etc)? Which tread pattern in wc winter?
  17. Thanks aggies. Spoke to a guy at my lbs running the contis. Said he had 2 punctures and a sidewall in the first week and will not use the contis again. Thought about the maxxis, but damn heavy. Seems like there is no option that will solve all the issues. I am leaning towards the geax, hope the issue mentioned on this thread was only with the white tyres.
  18. Any known issues with geax tyres??
  19. Thanks to Vincent from Bulls bikes, they exchanged my tyre for a new one. I have lost some confidence in the tyre and have not fitted it yet. One of the people at a local bike shop suggested that it might be a problem with the rim rather than the tyre as, they have had it happen before on ZTR rims. Anyone aware of any problems? I am still of the opinion that mine was a tyre issue, as the tyre was completely warped after if came of the rim and the beading had a kink in that area. I am considering buying Geax AKA or Saguaro, any thoughts? They are heavier, but I am willing to sacrifice for safety sake.
  20. Lets just say its about forty/forty-five customers. Changed the title, so everyone should be happy now..
  21. I thought the hub was a website for cyclists, to inform them of new products, reviews, races, good products etc. If you did not like the google feature and did not want to read the review, click on the little cross at the top right of your browser. The idea was not to spam anyone (you voluntarily clicked on the link) it was just to make people aware that there are actually a lot of reviews available on the Internet and they are worth a read if you want to locate the best products available. Nobody forced you to read, or buy or click anywhere. PS. I am a paying advertiser on the Hub and have given away numerous free samples to open minded hubbers that want to experience quality for themselves. And have received great feedback from them, as well as a few ordering customers...
  22. did they replace, or did you go over the max pressure? I hope they will replace mine, as it is a supposed to be a tubeless ready tire, and I had it in the pressure range all the time.
  23. My tires are Tubeless ready, not UST.
