  1. the gram post from this morning says this is the last week to enter.
  2. 3 monuments in which he went deep and he didn’t hold back either in that stage race. As I said I’m just an armchair critic, we normally have no clue, you would know better so what do you think of that performance of stage1, he definitely wanted to win it. Not taking the Pink Jersey was probably a blessing for the team mates that did the pacing all day.
  3. From the armchair critic: I know it's only stage 1 but I dont feel confident in Pogacars performance today, he may survive Giro but come the Tour we may see a new winner. A fresh Pogacar these guys will not hang on his wheel when he attacks up a climb, if they do he almost always will take the sprint, yeah I know he got no assistance after the descent so naturally wouldn't have the bite for sprint. I just feel he is carrying lots of fatigue from the all the 2024 races thus far.
  4. I think on fresh legs or if the climb is first then your current gearing should be fine, but the okes are going to be racing, there are gonna be attacks & splits & dead wheels for days and there is a small'ish climb somewhere in the middle that will cost a bit by the time you get to the tar section of the final climb it's survival mode for most.
  5. Listen if The Grind Master aka The Torqueanator aka The Don is swapping the 40t small ring for a 34t surely that means something right? Seriously though the 2 times I did that climb I was just ***, you are in way better shape than me so maybe you will climb it and at the end ask what was all the fuss about 🤔
  6. depends on the model you want to replace, R2500 sounds about right for a brand new unit that Retails for +-R6000
  7. if you are a betting man, throw some money at Lopez, Martinez & Uijtdebroeks
  8. So what I did when I noticed my battery wasnt lasting long was to disable a couple of features, like sensors you know you not going to use anytime soon, disable bluetooth & wifi, pulse oximeter, etc. fyi Garmin will happily take that 6 and give you a 7 for an extra R5k
  9. ...Do you want more? Cookin' raw with the Kensignton boys So for one last time, I need y'all to roar
  10. Better to post screenshots than links tomorrow the ad will be taken down
  11. I just checked the schedule and Giro only starts on the 4th or am I missing something?
  12. This event started back in 2016 & I was fortunate to be there on my Gravel Donkey / Monster Cross. Then again back in 2018 on my MTB. 2017 the event was cancelled as some of the critical parts of the route was washed away by torrential rain. In those days there was literally no accommodation & the town couldn't handle the capacity especially when it coincided with other events in the town on the same weekend as I found out the hard way & had to book accommodation 53kms away in Klaarstroom. Now there are tents & more guesthouses have popped up. The event has definitely grown in numbers year on year. Well Done Big John & the Team!!
  13. 50cc tires should take care of both sand & corrugation. Like you said in the other thread about gearing now its tire choice. Horse for Courses.
  14. On a 2019 podcast "Beyond Victory with Nico Rosberg" where Froome was the guest. Nico was boasting about his time up the Col de la Madone of 44 minutes for 270 watts which the locals of Monaco regularly do. Chris apparently did 470W for 30minutes. https://www.strava.com/segments/2363
  15. what?! 😱 proper torque session there at the end then 😮‍💨🤯
  16. Well Done Guy 👏🏻 this is looking promising for Gallows 👊🏻
  17. Motorsport drivers/riders actually do lots of cycling for fitness with proper intervals, most are coached as well. Someone I remember fondly was Gniel De Villiers who is another monster on the MTB, use to do a lot of local races where he would just klap you 6-love.
  18. Yassis that was nail biting. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6UTRJayo4O/?igsh=bzVsZmw4djVqcms3
  19. Beers currently leading the pack at Belgian Waffle Ride Gravel Race with a 3:30min on the chasers getting live updates on the gram https://www.instagram.com/stories/belgianwaffleride/3356223618453308623?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igsh=MXh5YTlwMXgweHZy

  21. Nope the easy part is the 5km's on gravel the "fun bit" is the last 6kms on tar. I always say if a climb is tarred or laid with concrete then you must know what is waiting for you.
  22. Alternatively stick to the current gearing so you can get the "full experience of going to the Gallows" 😈 I mean just look at Donovan & Dan's faces after crossing the line last year wouldn't you also want that experience?
  23. Dude you have no idea, 52T for sure, I thought the hints were obvious in the promo videos (⚰️ ☠️ ) on the gram. You are literally going to question your life choices up that final climb. No exaggeration.
  24. Another test is Tokai Mast which I see the okes are doing soon. That is not nearly as steep as Galgeberg but it will give you a good idea how much walking you will be doing.
