  1. what brake issue? the brake that failed because of the crash, or the brake that was blamed for the crash?
  2. thought it's more $pecialized making a big bid given that Sam Hill is either riding CRC/Nukeproof or as a privateer on nukeproof.
  3. what do you mean your head falls in the middle? you mean you are 55.5cm? Just go with the size recommendation. Helmets are supposed to fit like a second skin. It will be a tight fit, but not uncomfortably so. As for range of sizes, TLD normally ships lids with both thick and thin liner and cheek padding. if it doesnt ship along with the D2 lids, then you are able to get them as aftermarket items. Maybe get your friend to get you the optional thicker padding kit as well.
  4. hardtail = pedalling efficiency. makes for a bumpier ride, but that experience alone will teach you smoother line choice and how to use your body esp your legs, as the other suspension. Other obvious benefits are lighter weight (always handy for acceleration and climbing), and less maintenance (shock maintenance/upgrade/replacement).
  5. food brand + polygon bikes + united ride + Bmx family = new team?
  6. Unless the replacement itself presents with post-operation mobility issues, that is, the knee replacement did not result in full range of normal motion, then you have bigger issues to worry about than cycling. In other words, sue the surgeon. But in general, knee replacements are not that problematic other than the normal aches and pains associated with recovery. Cycling is a low impact activity, so it will be near perfect activity for reconditioning the muscles that no doubt will have wasted away some what during the post-op recovery phase. IF there are some residual post op stability issues, then a suitable (but stupendously pricey) sports knee brace will restore stability without impacting the ability to cycle.
  7. calm down bighead.
  8. would be lank funny if they put their bikes on the wrong car....
  9. curious to know how the bike was stored for the thief to just stroll off with it? if i've missed that posting, apologies. i'll wade thru the thread later, if not, OP, tell us the whole story.
  10. i just want them to confiscate teh bikes of the fools riding against traffic in the emergency lane on marine drive in the morning. There's nothing wrong with the bicycle lane.
  11. borax and white vinegar or borax+lemon juice. dab on and/or leave to soak for about 30min. Ignore dark discoloration as it should wash off once you rinse with water. Heating the vinegar or lemon mixture will accelerate the removal process. Commercially, i know of Plascon's rust remover & concrete etcher, and Dulux's quit rust remover
  12. i would just undo it. the corrosion looks superficial. that should be a standard size, so easily sourced replacements will be, unless you already know it's a non-standard part. In that case, spesh HQ in stellenbosch must source it for you.
  13. what's with the shrink wrapping on the seatpost collar?
  14. can pretty much tick all those boxes in the list of typical complaints Mr S Brown lists in that article. Thanks for the link Jacquers. What I've found, and only during the long rides, was the typical discomfort, and moving around on the saddle seemed to help quite a bit, especially with the soft bits between the sit bones. It was then that i was wondering if the sit bone support was non-existent/non-optimal. Some googling highlighted the oft overlooked saddle width situation, and if one goes through the list of saddles of almost any manufacturer, there doesnt seem to be much choice: it's pretty much one size to fit all, whether it actually fits or not. but as per the article, there are other factors to take into account along with width. But starting with width is the more important one as the other aspects, eg fore-aft position can be easily accommodated for simply be undoing a few screws. When it comes to width, it means forking out for a new saddle. Not quite the same price-performance ratio when compared to undoing a few screws.
  15. i think the problem with this poll and the question is the missing information: what width was the saddle. More and more, it seems the answer is not in the love-channel, or how much padding, but rather the width which is key to supporting the sit bones. But please add Prologo Nago Evo Plus (141mm) to that list.
  16. i see david george 'still' holds the record.
  17. Offer PPA a dedicated subforum on TheHub. FAQs and email only go so far.
  18. Fantastic organisation in this one race. Why cant this level of organisation be maintained throughout the race season?
  19. more likely that rubber nose that's literally bending the rules.
  20. question is: what can nicky B say about leg spin to Tahir? The problem with Tahir as I see it, is he does not apply guile. You can't bowl expecting a wicket every ball, not against top class opposition. If it happens: great, but the reality, oft times you have to suss them out. Nicky B wasn't known for guile either. But Tahir as an understudy to the great Abdul Qadir should seriously know better. True, that AQ did bowl a lot quicker than warne, but he had lots of guile. But I guess, that craft bit of leg spin bowling comes with experience, hence my hope they stick with him.
  21. someone needs to tell Tahir to flight the ball more: too fast, too flat, too direct, too much boundaryworthyness. I hope they stick with him and work it out instead of sacking the guy. Shane Warne too sucked serious ballsack in his first three years in test cricket. We dont have another leg spinner at his level: even diamonds need cutting.
  22. if anyone is travellin to an event with a partner, he would like a lift.
  23. Just say when. I'm keen.
