  1. So some guy on an ebike whirred past me on my roadie the other day, took me by surprise as he cruised past. Didnt worry me too much, actually felt better than if he was on a std 29er. I said in my head, "holy crap this oke is fast, then, aaaaahhhhh ebike, whew!" He could have said Howzit as he came past, not like he was out of breath.
  2. So you mean an entry level Cannondale then.
  3. Makro schmakro, omnico schmomnico, who cares ? Great brand at a great price, its a no brainer buying one of these bikes.
  4. With the petrol price going mad, people will be buying these for transport, never mind for trail riding.
  5. Has to be the walmart connection, they pretty ruthless when it comes to squeezing their suppliers, they prob dont give 2 hoots about Omnico, Cannondale in U.S prob sold them to Walmart. 1000 units is a fair amount for Omnico to swallow? Distribution network key when you want to move volume.
  6. Jaco, dont blame the youngster, he saw that saddle bag and obviously thought that you were a mobile race team mechanic, you lucky he never grabbed a water bottle and your banana stash off you too !
  7. Yip, because education is not the goal, political point scoring is. Cadre deployment has to be the own goal of the century, they should teach that in schools.
  8. Yup, agreed, looks a lot like a MTB to me.
  9. Sure the organisers have a website, have you googled it?
  10. When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was a 24hr snooze-athon.
  11. Those are long socks, they just look short on him (its a scale thing)
  12. With the size of that dudes thighs it just may work.
  13. Beat me to it !
  14. Good thing its an ally frame, if it was carbon may not have worked out so well ?
  15. Vic farmer, comes in handy all the time. Have a light handy too, never know when you need one in SA with loadshedding.
  16. Smallest damn Harley i ever did see ! (Said with an amurican twang)
  17. Apparently they had a competition for kids to submit their designs. a grade 3 kid won, not a bad effort for a 9 year old.
  18. Bieber would cause me to swerve in front of an oncoming car on purpose.
  19. Got same thing, 2 weeks no bike, SUCKS. Tempted to go ride anyway, time to chase this flu away.
  20. I think thats why this event is not sanctioned by any of the motorcycle racing governing bodies due to the course being way too dangerous. If they had this race and nobody died i think that would be surprising. Given the record of fatalities in this race I kind of lose respect for the participants, especially as most of them will have families and kids that they would leave behind. As much as I enjoy watching bike racing, like moto gp, cant say I have the same views about this event.
  21. You mean like the actual people that lost their lives in the gas chambers in ww2 Or the actual people that lost their lives in school shootings. Just because someone feels that they have the right to say something, it doesnt mean that it is appropriate to do so. Still think these card jokes are not in good taste.
  22. I think that these cards that are posted although some may find them funny depending on their sense of humour are not considered funny by many people for obvious reasons. As much as I am not a religious person we should accept that many people are and when the posters choose to post these pics am sure that they are aware that they will offend many people. The question is then prob more about if it is appropriate to post something that you know will offend a lot of people. Im not saying it is wrong to challenge a viewpoint that is strictly formed from a religious viewpoint but there are ways of doing this that are less offensive. No matter how the "jokes" are created or happen to be formed they are indeed in pretty poor taste.
  23. Saw the Scott ebikes at the lab yesterday, those things looked huge, would be a bit *** if you get a flat battery on the trails with these, looks proper heavy to ride with pap battery. Perhaps thats why all those bullets were keeling over in the Netherlands.
  24. Judging by the age of the riders, most of the deaths were likely from natural causes, they just happened to be riding their ebikes at the time, Lol
  25. Eddy, the rear light is a "ryder supercob" is a usb charged light for seatpost mounting. Multi mode flash or solid, different brightness levels etc great value for money i think. Cost R250. The white one i got for front to use in flash mode for daytime riding, also has a solid beam but prob not really so great for night riding, I dont ride in dark anyway. Was cheap at R129 works off 3 aaa bateries i think. Cant recall brand name have binned the box it came in. Both were bought at cycle lab in fourways.
