  1. The chasing group is making ground. Hope Cink can hold them off.
  2. Cink still in front. Chasing group of 4 is 29sec back.
  3. Fontana had a puncture, sitting in 22nd spot.
  4. An ultimate hubber's keyboard looks like this:
  5. You must be an ultimate hubber when you see it fit to k@k all over someone because he entered the epic and did not pay the entry fee into his bond instead. A certain jet setter did the above.
  6. Haha, have you seen how many extremely skilled mountain bike riders lack some dental "finesse"? Nico Vink is a good example as well:
  7. Another aspect of the bunny hop that makes it handy is the fact that you can hop sideways. To be able to hop sideways is a very handy skill especially when you get cross rutted in a jeep track downhill. This happens quite often in marathons where large sections of the route are not MTB only trails. A sideways hop enables you to change the line while keeping speed. If you try a sideways jerk off in a cross rutted situation... I fear the results might be painful.

  9. I really wish I can have all the free time I had for training when I was at university. Count your blessings dude, at university, I cycled 6 days a week, played rugby for my Res' 1st team, and played golf for the university team. On top of that I got time for a proper party at least once a week. Those were the days. Just make sure that you stay close to the university to ensure that you do not waste time commuting, and when your mates are watching series/movies go study. All about time management.
  10. It is a pity that some participants on this thread, from both camps, resorted to name calling. The discussion was very civilised and quite informative until the name calling and joking started. @Richard, the idea was not to "moan", or bring your thread down, but there are many Enduro-Hungry trail riders out there who would not think twice about driving 1000km to get to a gravity enduro event. That is the reason why so many enduro riders from all over the country have opened this thread. It is a racing discipline that suits our riding style. There is a very positive side to this thread, you now know that there is a great demand for the gravity enduro format, and if you are able to host such an event at your trail, I can promise you that you will get riders from all over the country there. All the best with your event, multi hour lap events are always a blast, especially if a part of it, is during the night.
  11. The Albanator on his Canyon, doing some skills training to aid his Marathon training:
  12. Akrigg, on a hardtail 29er riding uphill, with flat pedals and 510's:
  13. Haha, "Crack List" I think the only crack list one will find anywhere is the narcotic kind.
  14. Enduro is not an abbreviation of endurance, it is a mountain biking discipline. Go read here: http://www.enduroworldseries.com/ http://enduro-mtb.com/en/
  15. MTB Enduro racing also requires a lot of endurance. Some of the timed sections are up to 5km long and have long pedalling sections. The liaison stages get you to the top of the mountain again for the next special stage, which means that you need to ride your bike uphill as well. Enduro is not just an abbreviation for endurance, it is a mountain biking discipline.
  16. In Motorbike terms Enduro racing is very similar to REAL Enduro Mountain bike racing. In both formats there are special stages which are timed, and liaison stages in between the special stages. The Special stages are typically more technical and challenging than the liaison stages. So a marathon or 6/12/24 hour event is technically not an Enduro.
  17. Shimano skewers are great in my opinion, we use them on all our bikes.
