  1. Very sad news. I really hope he recovers. Awesome skills instructor as well:
  2. You finally got what you wanted all along. A chance to sit with some of the committee members and voice your opinion. Why do you still try to find additional accusations while you are at it? Has it ever occured to you that the lawyer could be a club member? And a good mediator in case wild accusations start flying around? I have been on a MTB club committee for the last two years, and whenever we have a meeting where accusations(like your "money burn" one above) might take place, we make sure we have a neutral mediator present.
  3. I have purchased mine from CRC. The first two that I have bought were in a big basket( free shipping), and I was charged the normal 15% import tax and handling. I suspect the person on duty at customs assumed that the entire basket was bike parts after he saw that the first 10 or so items were in fact bike parts. The price per baggy amounted to about R600 each. The last two was bought with other clothes and shoes and duties charged were about 40%, which amounted to about R900 per baggy. Still way better than the R800 First Ascent baggies that my LBS stock. I have two pairs of Endura baggies which I have purchased in 2009, and they are still going strong, and with each hard fall, you save the price of a bib short. So R1000 for a pair of baggies is not expensive in my opinion.
  4. Albanator doing some freeriding in the Dolomites:
  5. Endura Singletrack. The fit is awesome, and they are sold without a liner, which means that you just select your favourite type bibshort and wear it underneath. I wanted to try Dakine the last time I was in the market for baggies, but the Endura Singletracks I have used were so nice that I bought two new pairs of them instead.
  6. Manitou Mattoc fork:
  7. I use a Holdfast Sprint 2. I have modified it a bit with aluminium square tube in a few crucial places, and now it is very sturdy and solid. I needed to do this as I travel a lot on gravel roads with our bikes, and some of those roads are quite rough. The rack itself does not tilt, but you can buy an alternative Holdfast towbar bracket that does tilt, which means that you can tilt it out of the way for a hatch back. http://www.holdfast.co.za/?portfolio=baseplates
  8. Gravity Dropper is also a nice dropper post, and CRC stocks all their parts. They have also been in the game for a very long time. They are cable actuated and the dropper mechanism works with a coil spring and pin, in lieu of a hydraulic system utilised by other manufacturers. http://gravitydroppe...ts/turbo-parts/ http://www.chainreac...gravity dropper Their entry level (non remote) Descender model can be upgraded to a remote actuated post as well, which is nice.
  9. I will be signing a life changing contract in that church in about 15 days time
  10. In my search trying to find if my Garmin eTrex 30 is Powercal compatible, I found this: http://www.thisisant.com/directory/powercal
  11. Greg's bike for this weekend:
  12. I have weighed the contents of the Aeropress scoop using different beans, and it is usually around 14-16g per scoop.
  13. Some repack posters. It is actually where Enduro started. Ride/walk up, and race down.
  14. Serious??? One of the first mountain bike races ever was a downhill race on Mount Tamalpais and the race was called Repack. The reason they called it Repack, was because they used coaster brakes at the time, and at the end or the race most of the grease in the rear hub have burned away and they had to "repack" their hubs before they could go on another run.
  15. Now you're talking. I never use less than 2 scoops for a single cup of Aeropress coffee. I use inverted method, method, 2 scoops, 60ml water, 10s steep, 10s stir and 10-15 seconds press.
  16. Here is an interview with the guy, just make sure you translate it : http://www.26in.fr/news/25415-interview-du-heros-de-val-d-isere-.html
  17. Oh, and he did it on an Intense Tracer 2
  18. Sebumo Tude has a MTB trail. It is just outside Kenton on the Southwell road.
  19. This sounds awesome, riding the route, seeing a beautiful part of Europe, klapping beers every evening... We need to make a group of hubbers for a mega 2015 trail riding week!!
  20. During Enduro World Series #6 this past weekend, Cedric Carrez, did a back flip en route during one of the stages. I think the spirit of Enduro is about having fun on the trail irrespective of your time. It just happens that it is lots of fun when you go fast.
  21. Watched it for the first time last night. Very cool. I sommer bought the SD version on Itunes this morning. R49.99 = Steal.
  22. Agree 100%. And likewise not everyone who rides trail bikes are posers. This is not a cycling only occurrence. In surfing and golf people are labeled all the time, based on their equipment or performance. What I struggle to understand about modern society is that people cannot allow others to just be what they want to be. Everyone needs to fit into a little box with a label based on how they look and what they do.
  23. I see Nigel rode his GT. He mentioned on another thread that he is getting an Evil Undead. He better phone the factory and get them to add world champ stripes to the paint job!!
