  1. Blackie underwent a transformation since last seen: Red Black FD Red Black RD New Red Shifters Black Prince bp's
  2. Don't forget about nutrition. Eating right is vital to staying healthy, growing muscle and shedding fat. I'm also training for a sub 3 for next year. Need to knock off 25 seconds. PM me leave your no, perhaps we can train together. Also based in SS.
  3. Interesting read. It's total BS trying to cycle 200km on a bread roll! You have to take in the same as what you expend or you'll wither and die. As far as proteins go, veges should eat nuts, beans, lentils etc and they'll be fine. I do my bit to keep the sheep and cattle population in check, as I love gebraaide boud and steaks!
  4. As to the original question, I found that riding for an 1,5hr in the mornings without having breakfast, reduces body fat.
  5. Spez gave me good service wrt replacements: Tyre that blew its sidewall after about 3 months usage Road saddle after 14 months use Cracked seatpost on a Venge Have a Sworks road shoe that I've used for 3,5 years so far. No problems with it.
  6. Nice - try and beat the bends in ACT!
  7. What a story...so far. Anybody else from the Hub buy a fake unknowingly from CS?
  8. Anybody know what gearing they have on their bikes?

3:00:25 My first sub 3:01! Hope to shave off 26 seconds next year
  12. Race report from A-B group - first draft. It started with a countdown which was great! Pace was good till okw, some riders got away but I think we caught most of them before Sun Valley. Wind was a factor on Slangkop and leading up to Cape Point. There was an attempted break leaving Simonstown...closed down very quickly by group. Boyes Drive was a massacre for the group...many riders did not make the front group. Thanks to the yellow jersey rider that helped paceline along Spaanschemaat. At this point, the finish couldn't come quick enough. Did a 2:23 or thereabouts. No mechanicals or incidents that I know of. A great race, well marshalled and organised.
  13. Tough ride this one. Started in cat 3, and it was okay until about 50 km into the race when I decided to go with the break...it never formed or got away but it was a lot of fun nonetheless riding up front. Got to hear a few skinner stories. Legs were klaar after this and popped! Rest of the ride was hot and last 10km took forever. Love this route.
  14. Is it a league race as well?
  15. All good. Just didn't feel 100%. Thanks for asking. You find racing hoops yet? Got myself Token tubbies. Awesome set weighs in at 1080grams.
  16. I don't understand the comment about "what are they doing there". In Cat 3, there are about 10 guys that are excellent climbers, and perhaps another 10 that have Hoffman legs. The other 40 guys are inbetweeners. I'm an inbetweener and I try my best to stay with the climbers when they attack (it's so much fun). I haven't had an opportunity to make a break close to the end of a race to try and take it from the sprinters but that's my plan! Secrets out
  17. Maybe the guys didn't know the route. Could be an honest mistake. The route description was not very clear imo
  18. Awesome ride in E. Perfect weather. Felt sorry for the guy that got his RD stuck in the rear wheel.
