  1. You might want to consider drilling some holes in your frame and rims - as they are over-engineered. Any structural/mechanical engineer wil be able to model the frame with all the loading inlcuding your weight and other forces when cycling - thus informing you which parts may be drilled and how much - Might be a lot of effort though and expensive. If you don't want to drill because your bike will have zero resale value, go for lighter wheels!
  2. Road - Thursday - confirmed with Airbender.
  3. By 2035 I reckon chains will be replaced with direct drives and we'll have CVT cassettes
  4. That's a cool bike - 100% awesome!
  5. Liz Hatch?
  6. Terrible news dude! Can't trust anybody these days, not even your girlfriend's Mom.
  7. They all probably the same in terms of lifespan - so go with looks and weight.
  8. This is terrible news! Will anything happen? I doubt it - CSA got too much on the plate.
  9. 3 pages and still no answer! What about carbon frames losing stiffness after a few years due to stress at a micro-level - making them less stiff. Same thing was said about alu frames. So keep it for five years - then sell it on the Hub.
  10. Supercycling should do some Carte Blanche investigations - like is there price fixing of cycling goods? Trace the drug route from start to how it ended up in Nolan. That'll make it interesting - for me at least.
  11. Interesting reading! Saw some at the LBS for R250 - asked if they're genuine? Didn't get a straight answer.
  12. Never had a problem before with online shops. It always helps the situation if you speak to the owner of the bike shop or management and tell him/her of the bad service, frustration etc. They don't want your bad experience being repeated here or spreading by word of mouth, and eventually they lose more business not just yours. Kick ass at the shop.
  13. Drink enough water if you take any vitamins or berocca. Dilutes the stuff, and your body takes a bit longer to process it all - possibly absorbing more of the good stuff
  14. Maybe its a cheap chinese import! Cheap knock-off kits for sale on the hub too. Seriously though - other than being downright rude...is it against the law to ask for someone to prove ownership? Could you be sued for asking? Human rights and all that?
  15. Action movies for me, as the noise of the IDT makes hearing the dialogue a problem. Also a structured programme helps - keeps you focused on training.
  16. 1.79m 172.5mm road 175mm MTB
  17. I'm guessing a 39. Compact cranks take a 34 or 36.
  18. Hey Stratus5, How long have you been riding? If you're new to cycling or intense exercise, your lungs probably need to adjust. I had somthing similar when I started. If the coughing is really bad though, it could be serious - so have it checked out. Good luck.
  19. The PPA have advised us to Boyes drive. They are the Law in CT.
  20. Hi Sun, Definately upgrade the frame next. Cheers,
  21. Good morning all, Shoo Hubber, let's close this silly thread now and move on to something more meaningful as suggested by some Hubbers. Btw, the comment about getting dropped cause he's black - k@k funny! Lol. Some topics that should possibly be avoided in the future: 1. If Islam is a peaceful religion, why do they blow stuff up? 2. Should Catholic priests be castrated? They don't use their tackle or do they? 3. Do vegetarians think nothing of plants? I'm posting from my mobile so I can't put those smiling faces here - "smiley faces" here. Be happy, Cheers Fakes
  22. You know the problem with starting a thread is that it can't be closed - well at least not by me. Thanks for all the comments guys - some really good ones - I think my friends stuff were probably not selling because they either overpriced or in a bad condition - I never got to see the stuff. So, I admit that there's no racism on the Hub and it was a stupid thread to begin with? Once again, sorry if the thread offended anybody. Cheers, Fakes BTW, the West Coast Express had brilliant weather!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Why do I ask this question? Well one of my friends told me that he can't sell some stuff on the hub because he is a coloured and the whites don't want to buy from him. Can this be true? Perhaps there is some truth in what he is saying, but I have yet to encounter this. My sales and purchases on the Hub have been across the racial spectrum. I sold some wheels to Bees and XT combo's to a Hubber from Bellville (white). The brakes I sold to an oke in Durban, but I had to refund him after it was established that the one set was damaged when it was removed from my bike, but that is besides the point. My purchase has been limited to a spez duallie from quickdraw, again without hassle or issues. I came across an article in the Mail and Guardian, I think, that said integration of racial groups in Germany has not worked, and people naturally want to live with, associate with the same racial group. To a large extent I see this at races. So I posed the question - not knowing what to expect...I must say that some responses were a little aggressive ...thanks Dirtrider...but others also provided insight into the whole race matter. Anyway, I did not intend to offend anybody with this question, but if I have please accept my apology. Signing off now, as there is a small race tomorrow- West Coast Express!
  24. er Thanks...
  25. Hi, Has anybody experienced any attitudes or comments of a racist nature on the Hub. Am I being racist for asking this question? Hope not! Cheers, Fakes
