  1. Wow I like this bike - it even has my initials on the back wheel!
  2. Sorry to hear about your crash Headhunter. Is the SL3 okay?
  3. Same here Airbender - I was spolit by the quality and commentary of the Paris-Nice coverage - so imagine the shock when the recording. Luckily the FF button saved the day.
  4. I'll be in a deep trance with mantra sub 1000 position until I cross that finish line.
  5. I thought the venue itself was nicely dressed up for the EXPO. There is free parking around the venue, and alot even further into D6 if you don't mind walking. Having said that though, have to agree that the CTICC would be loads better. On the plus side - the black Pinarello is simply gorgeous - I want one - so if anybody wants to swop their black Pinarello Dogma with SRecord and Campy wheels for a Spez SL2, SRAM Red and R-Sys - PM me. Size 54 -56cm. (I'm a borderline size - don't ask).
  6. Cool ride - thanks Wannebe. Stayed with Vallie when he punctured, Tjommies and another dude also waited since we were all riding thru to Southern Suburbs via Lower Main Road. - got to have numbers thru this stretch. Anyway, it was fun - definately do a Hub ride anytime.
  7. Bones, might ride part of the route as well with us.
  8. Howzit, Vallie and I will be joining you on Spaanschemat Road. We'll look out for you from 6:45 onwards. Don't go too fast or we'll miss you!
  9. old tubes over metal bars to prevent scratches.

Cool bru, lets hope we have a few other workers as well.
  11. Canterbury/Rhodes Dr, followed by Smits , Black Hill and Boyes Dr. Have to do Boyes because of one way.
  12. This is an interesting thread - new topic to me. Surely you'd go with the ratio that yo ucan just about make up on Suikerbossie (I think that is the steepest part of the Argus). Anyway, keem to hear what you decide after reccieing the route.
  13. Cool bikes, safe riding bru.

The weather in 2008 was perfect - no wind, slightly cloudly, and NO WIND. Did a 5:19 on three weeks training. I'm feeling fairly fit and know that I can/should ride a good Argus this year. I'm looking at staying with the front of D - doing my share of the work I'll be on a black Spez SL2 and in a Cape Town Giants jersey. For me it's important to ride the hardest race I can - time is irrrelevant - if I can get a sub 1000 position, that'll make my day.
  15. Nice! Hope you have 1000's of sweet km's
  16. Let the buyer beware! My bru who is in CT bought a bike from Potch - he sent his buddy from Jhb to check out the bike and take posession when the money was EFT'd. ED, I feel your pain - 7k is alot to be screwed over. Damn!
  17. Nice - would love to see it in person - is it any lighter AB?
  18. sole repair from Sportsman warehouse - dries overnight and very durable.
  19. Red and black colour combo - nice! Wish you many happy k's on it.
  20. Interesting - lots of beef and chicken - no lamb or pork on that day
  21. You doing the Argus HahaK? Would love to see this bike!
  22. Now thats a ride you wannabe on in Cat 3! Flippin nice!
  23. Another interesting fact is that if there are 20 cyclists following the lead cyclist - he will expend the least amount of energy
  24. Shocking! But I'm sure they've learnt. I'm also sure though that there are competent event organisers that would have done a better job, maybe budgets were tight?
