  1. Maxxis Aspens are very light, and cheap, never had any issues with them. Very fast rolling, but not much cornering grip. Edit: http://www.maxxis.com/Bicycle/Mountain/Aspen.aspx
  2. My tubeless Maxxis Aspens roll much quicker on tar than the cheap Kenda slicks I tried.
  3. I have a SR Suntour XCR 011 Series fork with remote lockout, seen below. The lockout casette has jammed in the locked out position, it does have a bit of rust which may have caused this. I have tried spraying lube on it, and I have removed the casette from the fork, but being a sealed unit there doesn't seem to be much I can do. I have 2 questions: 1. has anyone had this, and resolved it? 2. where can I buy SR Suntour spares from? Cheers

I had my sit bones measured, and I got a Specialized Phenom Expert, best decision ever!
  5. I like the Buzzrack Buzzybee 4, which is around R3899 from rackandcarry. Have had mine for almost 2 months, and no problems... and it carries 4 bikes with no problems.
  6. My LBS said foldable tyres are the easiest to convert, the wire bead type are apparently a problem. I had foldable Maxxis Aspens put onto my 26er, with a Stans tubeless conversion, worked really well, I remember them being quite cheap.
  7. I have no experience with the Menabo... But I got the BuzzRack BuzzyBee 4 bike carrier about 1 month ago, so far very happy with it. There is a 2 and 3 bike option. Bought from http://www.rackandcarry.co.za/ Info sheet: http://www.rackandcarry.co.za/Portals/0/Bike%20Racks/BUZZYBEE%20DATA%20SHEET%20V1.pdf
  8. For anyone who has Momentum Multiply, go check out the discounts you get on Garmin and Bryton cycle computers. I picked up the Edge 500 Bundle for R1900
  9. You could also get the Garmin eTrex 10 (no maps) or 20 (with maps), and get the handle bar mount. These are hiking Garmins, so there are no cycling features, but they are brilliant for navigating, and they take AA batteries, so you just swap them out. I use the eTrex 10 in conjunction with my Edge 500 if I need to navigate. The Edge 500 is great, but it is a useless navigator.
  10. They look great! Do they clip in and out as easily as Shimano SPD pedals?
  11. Reviving an old thread here, but which buzzrack did you get? How is it going 8 months down the line?
  12. OK cool, thanks for the info. I better go have a look at each of them first, if I can find them in Durban.
  13. I am having a look at getting a Menabo platform carrier for 3 bikes, there are 3 choices with varying prices. 1.Race 3 Project (tilt) - R2900 2. Project Tilting 3 - R2680 3. Winny 3 - R4200 I cannot really see where the price difference is in the product itself, what made you choose the Winny 3?
  14. Yes, Rotax, the "cheapest" option. Tyres are R2000 a set this year !!! :'(
  15. Karting Club Fee: R1200 Regional Licence: R785 Compulsory Medical Insurance: R600 Admin Fee: R20 Postage: R25 Practice Card: R2500 Pit Fee: R1200 Total: R6330
  16. waiting in anticipation ...
  17. I hope all of that comes in some kind of discounted bulk pack
  18. Thanks! When I saw it in that colour, knew I had to get it
  19. My first 29er, loving the change: Also made a few changes to the stock model. http://www.giant-bicycles.com/_generated/_generated_za/bikes/models/images/800/2013/XtC_Composite_29er_2.jpg
