  1. I use a Garmin Edge 500 when I know the trails, and just want to log the ride. If I want to navigate on unknown trails I use a Garmin eTrex 10. It works perfectly, and the claimed battery life is 25 Hours. Uses AA batteries. Edit: handlebar mount is available
  2. Awesome bike. I've hardly ever seen ladies on ladies specific bikes, and they seem to do just fine. What I would like to know, is did you change the stem?
  3. I'm sure that is the same site that has been mentioned on the hub before, and it's the same old culprit...
  4. The New Balance factory outlet in Durban, Stamford Hill Road has sales on cycling stuff every other week. I would hope each major city has one of these stores... I managed to pick up bibs for R450, and I they have done very well for me.
  5. Does it have to hold onto the bicycles frame, or can it hold it on the seat post? Like so: http://cdn.instructables.com/FI7/H9LH/GI0TIR63/FI7H9LHGI0TIR63.MEDIUM.jpg
  6. The Bell Solar is a huge improvement (weight & vents) on the Ukon, and at a great price: http://www.buycycle.co.za/apparel/headgear/helmets-en/bell-en-2-3/bell-solar-white-helmet-bell.html
  7. Awesome, I haven't tried all of their trails yet, still need to get up to Inanda sometime. I believe they want to link as many of the trails together in the long term, Inanda to Shongweni would be a crazy ride.
  8. So I decided to try the Shongweni guided ride, after the usual cycling buddies bailed with the usual excuses. I was pleasantly surprised, it was a really great ride, and we were shown trails in the area I never knew existed, including one with a breathtaking view from the top of a waterfall. And to top it off, a great bunch of people to cycle with. Here's a pic from Durban Green Corridor, the guys who are now maintaining the trails: (I think this is the same waterfall? Both great views anyway...) https://www.facebook...anGreenCorridor Anyway, it would be great to get some more people involved, this particular ride is every Saturday, starting at 6.30, from the Shongweni Polo Club. 9. Buycycle has this one on their site, but not in stock http://www.buycycle.co.za/apparel/headgear/helmets-en/met-en-2/met-xilo-uni-size-mtb-helmet-met.html
  10. Awesome My idea of a trail centre is a place to park and buy a permit, anything else is a bonus. Can't wait to try out the trails
  11. Is there going to be a trail centre for these trails in the future? Would be great to have another permanent MTB venue close to Durban
  12. That's where I get all my toys from
  13. I'm very happy with my Buzz Rack Buzzy Bee 4, carries 4 bikes and only R3899 from: http://www.rackandcarry.co.za/BikeRacks I did manage to lose some straps though, but the supplier does stock them
  14. Not quite sure on the definition of cheapest... Garmin eTrex 10 uses AA batteries and has a battery life of 25 hours Retail around R1000, can try second hand market. Very accurate, can also get handlebar mount for it. Bryton 20+ cycle computer with GPS, never tried one, retail around R1000. Try second hand.
  15. This is all I could find on it: http://www.makro.co.za/p/18332/raleigh-mtn-team-mtb/
  16. I've never seen one, but I do see Makro have them for R799... You hardly get much new for R5000, so I don't event want to know what you will get for R799.
  17. Another possibility... I had a similar issue, and the fork then got stuck locked out. It was then sent back to the suppliers, and the motion control mechanism (possibly just the lock out part) was changed under warranty. Apparently it is a known problem.
  18. Concept Cyclery in Waterfall have an Assometer, not sure about test saddles though.
  19. I have not tried it myself, but the Concept Cyclery in Waterfall can do the whole Body Geometry/Bike Fit thing... I would of tried it by now, but they only do it during the week, during working hours http://www.conceptcyclery.co.za/bg_fittings.htm
  20. Make sure there isn't a thorn still stuck in the tyre which is puncturing your tube when you put it back in. I learnt this one from experience
  21. I like Cycle Logic in Gillits, if she wants to try someone else next time.
  22. I'm with I-Cycle, haven't had to claim yet.
  23. Yeah, the wording is not very clear... the picture definitely catches your attention.
