  1. Over the past 2 years I have built 6 wheel sets using Rapide Components - In terms of price, quality, backup , reliability and easy maintenance , nothing comes close. Don't hesitate to spec the bladed spokes - they're awesome. Remember - when you you get a set of Rapide wheels , they're built by Wayne , and he's a dam good wheel builder.
  2. The ones I mentioned were all EXO's
  3. A mate of mine won 2 of them at one of the USN events. Ripped both of them (ones with sidewall protection). Put one on my sons hardtail , ripped the sidewall as well and for no apparent reason.
  4. Myle's you not listening - But here goes - My sons Anthem Advanced - Monarch RT3, My Anthem X - Float DPS. As they come from Giant. We are not experiencing any problems. The method I am using is a simpler method in my opinion of getting the performance out of the suspension which you have described without sitting there and measuring sag at mm for mm until youv'e hit the sweet spot. To highlight this I will give you the pressure in the RT3 tomorrow to show you how far off you are in your assumptions that we are pushing the pressures too high.
  5. U've got it wrong - once the bike is setup using the method described it is nowhere near a hardtail - and if stationary with the rider on you will see that there's sag on the suspension - I have just taken the RShock off my sons Anthem to be replaced with a Fox. I will take the pressure in it tomorrow - nowhere near what you are expecting and very much in the normal range of what you are advising.
  6. I've tried your method numerous times, sat with tape measures, and verniers and never been happy with the results - now try my method using a MODERATE tar uphill for the setup. Emphasis on Moderate.
  7. The easy way to set up an Anthems rear shock - Firstly forget about all the sag settings that are listed. Find a moderately steep hill and start off with with lower pressure in the shock. You need to have someone to watch the movement of the shock.Pedal hard up the hill and increase the pressure in the shock until the bobbing stops.Set the dampening and u're done.
  8. Yes it it is - Fox Suspension Float DPS A Giant Rear Shock 2016Write the first review< Back to results 0:00 / 0:00 R2792.49
  9. Mt apologies - did not read the topic properly - we did this on his front shock . If an Anthems rear shock is set correctly there should be no reason for a lockout. Do yourself a favour and bomb the Rockshock . Chain reaction has Fox DPS rear shocks specifically for the Anthem with the correct tune at about R2800.
  10. You can get a lockout conversion for it - did that to my sons carbon Anthem.
  11. In Motorsport any hearing or appeal due to any transgression is released in full detail. Surely in terms of transparency and considering the large number of stakeholders, CSA should do the same.
  12. In my line of work we make about 30 high and low pressure power steering pipes a week. Atf is a lot more corrisive than other mineral based oils. Might be a good idea to flush it out - just to be safe.
  13. Are the Pro Ones not only rated at 70 and 75kg for the 25 and 28c respectively.
  14. He has the 2016 ADVANCED 2. Out the box and XL it weighed about 9.2 kgs. The wheels are heavy. Got it down to about 8.7 with a saddle, wheel set and crankset change. The TCR which has rim brakes came out the box at about 7.2Kg. If you have to compare the two bikes with similar components the Defy will always be slightly heavier (frame) . Disc wheel sets will always be heavier than the conventional rim brake sets.
  15. My son has both the Defy and a 2017 TCR Pro Advanced 1. Fairly big price gap between the two and the Defy is noticeably heavier. He prefers the TCR . The Defy is a great bike ,comfortable and quick but not quite the all out racer the TCR is. Both have extremely good reviews.
  16. Continental Race King Puregrip .
  17. Go to a welding supply shop and buy crack detector spray . 2 x spray cans - 1 red and 1 white - follow the instructions - works like charm.
  18. This is what we are using at the moment - works better than anything I have tried.
  19. Super quality and unmatched service.
  20. Where would we be able to find the results?
  21. I have a Kore handlebar with a 8cm rise. Started with this and gradually went lower.
  22. Giant Toughroad - and with the change do some minor upgrades
  23. Built a carbon wheel set for my son about a month ago - Nextie rims , 30wide and high, Rapide hubs and bladed spokes. 1550gr. Superstiff. Cost was about R9800.
