  6. ...could you perhaps tell me what brand/name it is? went to Trackmac this morning and all they had were DOT fluids...
  7. I'm also keen to know. LBS I went to wants R120 for about 100ml for their repackaged shimano stuff (ie poured from their stash into a coke bottle) There's the Pentosin stuff mentioned here but I have no idea where to buy it off the shelf...

  11. i guess the one nice thing about the DOSS design is that the cable can stay fixed?
  12. dude, we thought we were waiting for you... besides... someone had to look after your wife and daughter.... and ollie still got to get used to the reverb. only ridden once with it so far. but yah, looking forward to the weekend
  13. nice pic hairy. reluctantly had to take my car to work this morning. then whilst locking up, the window breaks. just heard glass grinding. bad car karma. the universe is telling me something
  14. hey slick, didn't know you were an mtb instructor... so... when are you coming down to the cape next? i show you the trails... you show me the how. or maybe you only teach hawt women... not ugly mofos like moi...
  15. tell me about it! did my first purchase with BuyCycle last week, just before the easter weekend. Shipment was split into two. Got the first item on tuesday. Awesome! No tracking/status on second parcel though - and when I emailed they said they were still waiting for confirmation from me! wtf? tuesday sent email asking what's what. No response. I again inquired/phoned in on wed morning, indicated that it would've been really awesome to get the goods before the weekend - if at all possible. No status update/response for 48 hrs. Was about to write a rant on here - but lo and behold, parcel dude walks in with my goodies. Kudos to BuyCycle for that - status updates/customer feedback could be improved though!
  16. so when do you guys actually replace tyres? when you're bored with 'em? been running maxxis ignitors now for almost three years still lots of tread.. though the nobby 'sipes' are gone... i probably don't ride hard/fast enough but i think they're great for cape town conditions... the only other tyre i've used are crossmarks. sure they're fast rolling but had sketchy moments on wet roots/rocks with em. but i guess any tyre would battle in those conditions...
  17. obviously... it's called OCD.. wahaha.. my routine is similar to flymango/scotty
  18. i'm thinking a 'greener' bike. howbout a bike with built-in dynamo and rechargeable battery that you can plug in when you get home from your commute. ie. sell back energy to the grid. in any case it doesn't it really matter. purists will still be on single speeds
  19. yep i can see that. i packed the rain shell.. just in case. hopefully it clears for lourensford on sunday..
  20. tweels are the answer http://www.smorgasbord.net/wp-content/photos/tweel.jpg
  21. i would guess it should be fine otherwise only small people can ride iirc max psi for fox float is 300psi.
  22. it depends on your weight... make note of the shock psi, but measure sag and use that as the main indicator. edit: url to giant suspension 'manual'> https://www.giant-bicycles.com/backoffice/_upload_us/bikes/models/manual/08SuspensionQSGuide20070609.pdf
