  1. We might just ditch NZ as our primary immigration destination. Luckily we haven't put too much funds in it just yet. Just got our docs in place, but will need those for any other country in anyway. We will now be looking at the US and Aus.
  2. Just got an email back from TVNZ saying that their recruitment has been halted for now but they will be in contact with me once the freeze is lifted. That gives me hope for when we get back to normal.
  3. Really sucks for us. We are in the process of selling our house and we were planning to be in NZ by July/Aug, just before Spring. We gonna have to adjust our plans and hope it all works out in the end. Probably going to have to rent this side for a while before we go.
  4. I have applied for a few positions in the last week but have doubts whether employers will be considering foreigners at this time. Couldn't have made this decision to immigrate at the worst time.
  5. I'm more interested in Rugby and BMX racing. I understand that BMX is a club sport. That's the way it is all over the world.
  6. Got 2 potential buyers viewing our house today. Can't wait to get that weight lifted. That will hopefully make the stressful process a bit more bearable.
  7. On that note...I heard that there aren't organised sport in primary schools. Is this true?
  8. Now I'm triggered.
  9. Actually just checked again and the rent would be around R32k per month.
  10. My wife and I have been doing the math and from a groceries point of view the cost per week is around the same as here in SA. Cost of meat is about 30% more but we don't splurge on such often except when we braai. The cost of living goes sky high when you start factoring in transport and housing. Where our bond here in SA would be around R12k , our rent or bond in NZ would be over double that.
  11. Im glad. We are heavily involved here in SA and my kids would freak if they aren't close to a track.
  12. Anyone got kids racing BMX that side?
  13. Awesome. Thanks Wayne Just waiting for all the assessments from the other agents. Eagle unfortunately want you to pay for the initial assessment so we just want to check what the other guys have to say.
  14. And how are their services compared to the rest? I see some of the guys are willing to help with your CV and job search. Eagle don't seem to offer these services.
  15. We also checked out Eagle migration and they are way cheaper than everyone. Waiting for quotes fron New Zealand Shores and Flair Migration. Network Migration quoted R86k
  16. Those are the guys we are seeing in Feb
  17. Thanks Dave We have a meeting with an agent on 6 Feb. Which agents did you use and how much were the agent costs? We are getting quotes from all the agents and the prices vary immensely.
  18. So my wife and I have started exploring the possibility of moving down to NZ. My BIL lives in Wellington and brother is busy getting document ready for a move to Auckland. I am in the ITC department of THE infamous television company but I don't have a formal qualification. My current title is Senior Architect for Process Systems. I specialise in high level solution providing and 4IR. I work on a lot of automation, AI and cloud projects and manage requirement analysis, interface mapping and roadmap management. I'm basically a glorified Business Analyst on a slightly higher accountability and responsibility ladder. I see that Business Analysis is on the LTSSL but having an ITC degree is a requirement. My wife has a Bcom Accounting degree but didn't do her Honours. She worked in Auditing for 4/5 years and then moved to financial services for 9 years where she is still based. She is responsible for bookkeeping for multiple international companies doing general management accounts, PAYE and payroll for these businesses. My question here is, has anyone gone over into ITC without a degree? Do you think it's possible to go over on my wife's qualifications? edit - Is it worth it to use an agent for your visa applications? This basically means double the amount for visa applications if I do the math right.
  19. And I live 1km away from them. Like I said “ Worse for my pocket than Builders Wharehouse” and I love tools. ????
  20. Didn't know if I should post this in recent purchases or this thread. Got some new Carbon wheels for the little monster. Gonna go out to the bike park(weather permitting) this weekend so will have some more videos to post.
  21. You can be glad they don’t have a physical shop on your side. It’s worse than builders where house. Walk in to buy the laaitie rugby shorts and walk out with the whole shop. Their water bottles are great
  22. It was not a red card because the head and neck area of the player did not make contact with the ground. If the Japanese player didn't put his arm out to stop his head from hitting the ground he would have certainly got a red card. By putting his arm out he ended up past the 90 but landing on his shoulder and then back, thus the yellow.
  23. The cable brakes are useless and he wont be able to do tailwhips
