  1. Got the older one an MTB today.
  2. Little guy got a bigger MTB today for his birthday. Gonna have fun when the parks open.
  3. It was a hand-me-down from my Dad. All my mates where jealous even though most of them had phones for years already.
  4. I think the one n Morph's pic is a 6210. That was my first phone. Only got it when I turned 18
  5. Hugh Grant surprised me in this one. Only criticism I have is that they didn't make room for a Vinnie character. The plot twist was awesome, casting was incredible and the way he told the story from the first scene to the end was almost as good as Snatch.
  6. I am a huge Brit gangster movie fan. Watched the new Guy Ritchie last week and loved it. Couldn't go with Snatch cause it might just be misconstrued as pornagraphic.
  7. Wanted to post this in song of the day but thought it fits better here: https://twitter.com/songadaymann/status/1256716713619423232
  8. Yeah im sure NZ will recover and probably swiftly. My problem is that I specialise in an industry that is very small in NZ. I'm in broadcast TV and specialise in VOD and OTT streaming services. In the US those industries are huge and with 15yrs experience specialising in OTT im pretty sought after in the trade. We were doing OTT broadcasting and streaming before Netflix existed as a streaming service. Aus has a pretty big industry as well. I know I could probably work in just about any sector with automated processes but my passion for entertainment and experience in the field just makes me so much more valuable.
  9. We might just ditch NZ as our primary immigration destination. Luckily we haven't put too much funds in it just yet. Just got our docs in place, but will need those for any other country in anyway. We will now be looking at the US and Aus.
  10. Just got an email back from TVNZ saying that their recruitment has been halted for now but they will be in contact with me once the freeze is lifted. That gives me hope for when we get back to normal.
  11. Really sucks for us. We are in the process of selling our house and we were planning to be in NZ by July/Aug, just before Spring. We gonna have to adjust our plans and hope it all works out in the end. Probably going to have to rent this side for a while before we go.
  12. I have applied for a few positions in the last week but have doubts whether employers will be considering foreigners at this time. Couldn't have made this decision to immigrate at the worst time.
  13. Also check out Chris Hearn. He is a leg amputee though but has an incredible outlook on life. He races BMX and Downhill in KZN https://www.facebook.com/124728557580216/videos/2522015954521732/
  14. When we sell the house and cash out pension funds we should be able to go tax free between my wife, the kids and I if we divvy it up properly. Think kids under a certain age can take R250k.
  15. My provident fund saw an average of around 7% last year. The 2 years before that we saw much higher growth. I think 2017 was averaging 14% and 2018 around 12%. I am on the high growth(risk) policy though.
  16. My sentiments exactly. I’m only 35 so I don’t know what state the economy of SA will be in 20 years time or how policy might affect my ability to move funds. I would rather take the knock and move with my money than risk loosing it all in 20 years time.
  17. Thanks Cpt. Looks like I was reading an old article. So basically I can withdraw the whole fund, but will pay a greater tax on it. Still think it might be worth it in the long run.
  18. Question on the Provident fund. If I read correctly I would be able to cash out my fund on resignation. The first R500K is taxed at 18% and thereafter the next R500k is at 21% and then anything above that 1 mil is at 32%. If my fund payout is under a mil I would be able to take that out the country without any tax implications?
  19. I'm more interested in Rugby and BMX racing. I understand that BMX is a club sport. That's the way it is all over the world.
  20. Got 2 potential buyers viewing our house today. Can't wait to get that weight lifted. That will hopefully make the stressful process a bit more bearable.
  21. On that note...I heard that there aren't organised sport in primary schools. Is this true?
  22. Now I'm triggered.
  23. Actually just checked again and the rent would be around R32k per month.
