  4. Sprint off between a female track cyclist and a porche..... http://www.bicycling.com/womens-cycling/news/watch-this-cyclist-race-a-porsche-and-win
  5. It was much more do-able in reverse climbing the vodacom tower, going down was fun, even though My wrists was hurting, hahahaha. And the big descent on about 50km (before the towers),looked like a bulldozer ran through it, loads of fun, but very easy to go OTB once you lose concentration.
  6. Awesome event, marathon was much faster than last year because of doing the route in reverse, two balsy descents which made it even more fun. To the boks swearing at my wife on the 40k, be glad she didn't get your race number, grow a pair because swearing at a woman is definately not man-like behaviour.
  7. Some conflicting information regarding certain heartrate zones (vigorous and moderate) http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/fitness/in-depth/exercise-intensity/art-20046887?pg=2
  8. We went out on our MTB's,elapsed time 1:08:27, moving time 1:06:27, her avg HR was 75% of max as per garmin connect, recorded as a ride. I spoke to one of the overly qualified consultants, and was told that they keep the first recorded data (speed data or hr data). I noticed that on my rewards activity page, althought it was recorded as 1xsession, i received 200xpoints for 30-89min vigorous workout, and 100xpoints for speed data. Dunno why the data is now being split up,but it is very frustrating.
  9. So,whats happening here,no response whatsover. Wesselvdwalt, are you still involved?????
  10. Spoke to a person at Vitality, and because the Trailseeker series is not on their calender, they need the race organiser toe send a mail to Vitalityanywhere@discovery.co.za with the race details so that they can add the series to their race calender.
  11. Entries done and dusted, i'm in for the 70km, SO in for the 40km.
  12. Me and my wife did a 115km ride yesterday, she wore a garmin with hrm, avg 115bpm, and she only got 100 points. Can someone pls explain to me how a 5h ride give you the same points than a 30min workout/ gym swipe??????
  13. No Trailseeker events listed. That kinda sucks big time, maybe the race organisers must inflate a BIG ASS apple to be recognised. Vitality can just go and blow bubbles.
  14. Also have a Cube AMS 100, very stiff frame, light, responsive, well specced. Love it
  15. Posted this link a few pages backhttp://randolphburt.co.uk/2015/01/13/how-to-transfer-your-wattbike-workout-to-garmin-connect-strava/
  16. Cube ams 100 hpc carbon Stock rims (fullcrum redmetal44) 2x10 RS Reba (front) Fox ctd(rear) Spez ground control tyres Standard 11.4kg Planned weight loss Carbon 720mm flat bar Carbon seatpost Carbon stem 1x10 conversion Lighter rims(long term) Carbon crank arms Possible weight maybe sub 10kg
  17. Usually pedals excluded. Depends on frame (carbon/alu) and component quality (Also a difference in weight) then lastly wheel quality. A good entry carbon dualler may be 11+kg,and some higher end duallers (with some serious weight loss) slightly below 10kg
  18. For those using a wattbike, here is a link and explanation on how to log your workout on garmin connect, and still earn those points, because a wattbike is not yet recognized/supported by vitality. http://randolphburt.co.uk/2015/01/13/how-to-transfer-your-wattbike-workout-to-garmin-connect-strava/ . In essence, only a usb stick is needed, and some file converting. Not very difficult to do,and not very time consuming, maybe 5-10mins.
  19. Spez ground control 29"x2.3, absolutely love them
  20. Here's an idea, how about discovery creates a training app, similar to strava/endomondo,whereby your hr device can be linked to upload to the app, thus enabling them to track workouts.
