A forest also gets monotnous, especially those dominant jeep tracks - whereas if you find a little koppie in the vrystaat, you can see for hundreds of miles. further the rocks and sand add a little extra to the cyclo cross conditions.

I was actually directly asking about the time...but only pulling your leg anyways. there's organized cycle trips, why don't you check with the companies doing this? africanbikers used to offer quite some tours. but finding your route in exactly the same time might be difficult. if the amercian dude is prepared to pay a huge amoutn of money i'd organise it for him.
