    So this is what kept me busy over the holidays, what did you all get up to? A short video showing the fun side of the Braamfontein Spruit and why we ride it. Probably the most debated public area in South Africa. Open to the public and used by families, runners, dogs and cyclists it can get quite busy at times with tensions running high. We are all very lucky to have such an awesome trail/park in the middle of JHB. Great singletrack through the heart of (Jozi) Johannesburg. Thanks to my friends for helping film and make the video, to the Spruit Fairies for maintaining the trails & to Majozi for the use of his song.     Pleasure, I'm really glad that he had soo much fun and that I could teach him some stuff. He rides really well for his age, I stopped him from doing the big drop, I felt his fathers approval was needed for that one. I hope to see him in the future

But for those keen for a fun ride this sunday, all welcome. https://www.facebook.com/events/1035047259890895/ Another year has come and gone, come join me for a year end loop of the Braamfontein Spruit. - Meet at Riverside shopping centre, the River road. - Ride to start at 7:30 - Do a loop of the Spruit up to Emmarentia sessioning all the fun spots. - Drinks stop at Happy-Me - Free wheel back down the Spruit with a bit more fun. More drinks for the dehydrated. should be back by 10:30 Distance roughly 38km See you there.

    Cool, lets do it. Ill post a lesson, I'm sure some other guys will be keen. So the plan would be to hit the trails and practice different lines/obstacles?

    I would definitely put you in Intermediate then Ill put you on the list.

    This is generally what I cover in the Intermediate class. - Movement, getting loose on the bike- Track stand/balance- Braking- Cornering, Long and tight corners- Drop off- Steep climb- lifting your front wheel- Getting onto/over logs and pavements- Rock garden We run through some exercises then go ride some trails.

    I'm happy with kids, I have had a few joining classes as well as on their own. How old and how long has he/she been riding for? I have found kids easier to teach than Adults, they don't have any bad habits and pick up things faster.

    Hey, This is what I generally cover in the beginner class - Bike setup - Riding position, neutral, climbing & descents - Braking - Standing, movement on bike We will spend some time working on the positions then go play on the trails. If you are comfortable on your bike and have been riding for a while I would recommend the Intermediate, Beginner is if you are still nervous and unsure. Cash on the day is cool, just tell me you are coming and ill book a spot for you.
