  1. Keep a close eye on Mathieu van der Poel during this WC season (Cyclocross phenom and grandson of road legend Raymond Poulidor). He completely annihilated his competitors during the CX season except for one race where he was racing after recovering from flu and the other race was at CX World Champs where he lost to Wout van Aert. Mathieu van der Poel started in the 5th row this weekend and sprinted up into 5th position after the first lap and finished in 4th. Insane!! Edit He's only 23 years old (born 19 January 1995). Sam Gaze started in 30th position Mathieu van der Poel in 47th

Charles Key was the only rider able to ride all the way to the top of Ouberg Pass during the 1st day of Karoobaix against a massive head wind which tried it's utmost best to blow you off the Roggeveld Mountain Range while recording the 2nd all time best Strava time of 1:08:41 for that segment. 16. The riders pushing their bikes are legends in their own right, multiple world champions, ex-world champions, world cup champions, Olympic champions, etc, Burry was the only rider able to ride all the way up that steep and long technical climb.
  17. After 140 km already in the legs 8, 9, 10, 11, 12% turns into one hell of a wall to climb no matter what gears you have.
  18. Gone but not forgotten #iRide4Burry
  19. No not me, wasn’t there this year.
  20. Yes you are allowed to have a helper...the helper drops you off in Bloem and picks you up in Diemers or if you drop out of the race somewhere along the forgotten highway your helper can collect you.
