  4. Trashy people are everywhere, even in cycling, they have no respect for themselves and even less for others or the environment! I have stopped counting the amount of times I've seen hands throwing packs of McDonalds and KFC out of windows of taxis, but mostly vehicles worth close to a bar or even more! Also a new trend is discovering all the bumpers, mirrors, glass, radiators, oil, etc. + all the trash that was in the vehicle lying next to the road after a crash when you go for a morning ride. There's scrap trash, building + garden rubble + stink everywhere in Gauteng, it's becoming one huge dump-site! Disgusting, not to mention the increase of air pollution. Then there's Pikitup strikes making it worse.... Parks Tau dismisses DA’s bubonic plague claims The rodent was one of 13 taken for testing from Mayibuye, Region A in Johannesburg.City of Joburg Mayor Parks Tau has dismissed claims by the Democratic Alliance that bubonic plague has been found in dead rats in Midrand, Gauteng. This followed reports that the City of Johannesburg was worried about the health and environmental impact of the ongoing strike at waste management entity Pikitup after a rodent tested positive for the dormant plague http://www.citizen.co.za/1064541/joburg-mayor-dismisses-das-bubonic-plague-claims/

  9. Hmmmm good question! It's 55% tar and 45% gravel and then there's the Swartberg climb after having done just under 2000m of climbing already. Then that hectic descent to Prince Albert. I reckon a very strong rider should be able to do it in four and a half hours in favourable weather conditions. Me....I don't know. I'll be happy just to finish it as quickly as possible so that I can go drink lots of Glenhoff Craft beer on the stoep of the Swarberg Hotel!

  13. I know I posted something similar before, but...the big question I have is; when is it going to break...I will be VERY impressed if it lasts to full race distance of the Senior TT. Ian Lougher actually comes out of retirement to race the Suter MMX 500 at IOMTT! What a legend and that on a legendary two-stroke motorcycle! Ian Lougher confirmed to ride Suter MMX 500 at 2016 Isle of Man TT Races http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/ian-lougher-to-race-suter-mmx-500-at-the-isle-of-man-tt/ Suter Racing has confirmed that Ian Lougher will race the Suter MMX 500 at the 2016 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy. Welsh racer Lougher made his Isle of Man Mountain Course debut in the memorable 1983 Manx Grand Prix Newcomers Race, finishing third to Robert Dunlop and Steve Hislop. Lougher’s ‘two stroke’ credentials include being the only rider to win five consecutive North-West 200 125cc titles and numerous Southern 100 wins. He took his first TT victory in the 1990 Lightweight TT in one of the closest races in TT history, winning by only 1.8 seconds from Steve Hislop. Lougher set a new race record and a lap record that wasn’t beaten for nine years. Lougher enjoyed a near 30 year TT career between 1984 and 2013 which included ten race wins and a record 126 stars, and the most replicas awarded to a TT rider, before retiring after the 2013 Senior TT. However, the now 53 year old continued to race on the TT Mountain Course in the Classic TT, which included wins in the 2014 Bennetts 500cc Race and the Motorsport Merchandise Formula 2 Classic TT Races. He would have regained his 500cc Classic TT title but for a thirty second pit lane speeding penalty in 2015. Lougher will be reunited with an old rival from the 1991 250cc European Championship, Eskil Suter, now the CEO of Suter Racing. Commenting on his return to the TT Lougher said: "I really warmed to Estil Suter’s approach on this project. Despite the emotions that are undoubtedly attached to something of this nature, Suter Racing is approaching it both objectively and professionally which is the only way to go racing on the TT course.” He continued: “We want to learn the MMX 500 in the next three years to tackle the TT step by step before we can be properly competitive and it might seem strange for an old fella to say it but you can always learn something new on the Isle of Man. However, I’m sure the spectators are in for a treat from the word go.”
  14. Looks like fun. I can tell you, Kyalami is NOT flat, no mountains though, but if you wanna go fast you will suffer even if it's only 45kms!
