  1. There should have been more options for the day not just the one they executed with the last option being the 47km M3 loop. I wonder if the organisers ever intended to have the race ???? They had foreknowledge of the issues but no real action plans.
  2. The orgainsers must state the real reasons and not just blow smoke (excuse the pun ) up our .....
  3. Awesome quote....converse applies to. I will gladly be part of the organisation for the next CTCT.
  4. Total BS and weak planning. Need to have more rigorous plans for a big event...too many last minute decisions just points to inexperience.
  5. Ja.....I meant the office/physical store.
  6. Is EVO bikes open today or are they setting up at expo.
  7. Chappies should be a cyclist's paradise...So, more signs to warn motorists about cyclists and reiterate the low speed limit (20kph in parts). Ban tour buses from chappies, they are a total hazard even to motor vehicles. As far as other areas in the South Peninsular lots can be done too: Warning signs and even painting a yellow line demarcating a road shoulder would go a long way.. Come On PPA!!
  8. If the contractors are anything like those working in the Kalk Bay area this past decade it makes perfect sense, considering their organisational and efficiency skills...
  9. Is Ou Wa Pad still accessible for use? Or is this part of the Silvermine closure?
  10. Better idea than a ballot system is to hold the event over 2 days...that way you can accommodate 70000 riders....much more revenue for charity and everyone is happy.
  11. The writing was on the wall with the change to the burger race...now Stellenbosch Cycle Tour...Had to get their little fingers in this event too and F ... it up. Plus raise the fee up to R470...so its not about cycling anymore but about organisations and money. There goes riding with your buddy or family member!!!
  12. What happens to commuter cyclists who use that route? There should be some sort of shuttle service then if you want them to abide by the rules. Is a cyclist not classed as a "vehicle" on the road?? Runners and walkers are classed as "Pedestrians". Why are we now treated as vulnerable road users due to restricted road width? Clovelly road works is a classic case of restricted road width and cyclists still have access. We dont want to go down that road (excuse the pun) because the precedence will be set for many other situations to exclude cyclists from deemed "unsafe areas". If it is unsafe then it is unsafe and should be closed to all road users!!
  13. will it be possible to do a second lap if you finish before the last riders start ?
  14. When will the cops start enforcing the 1m law???
  15. Looking forward to a fun time...Little Scott you are welcome to stay in my shade, seeing you dont like the heat....
  16. I have contacted Carinus and he said he will send me photos soon? But I agree with all your concerns regarding event organisation. Lets see if Carinus can make good.
  17. Yes, was an intresting morning. Also had to dodge some pedestrians at intersections with the marhall telling me to turn right but pointing the flag LEFT?? However still enjoyed my ride. On a lighter note...When will the race times be available? Hopefully I crossed the non existent finish line
