  1. Thanks for that! Yea the shooting is easy but you can quikly loose days editing! Photoshop is on my wishlist. Been messing around with Lightroom but have not tried the layering tip yet! Let me see if I understand. In essence, you take the same shot a couple of times, focusing on different areas, layer them on top of each other, then you tell photoshop which areas to use in you final photo? There goes more days!
  2. My first DSLR is not even a month old yet so dont be too harsh ... pointers welcome though! Still getting to grips with all the fancy settings but I thoroughly enjoy learning and researching the how's and why's.
  3. Yup! Here's one from up top at Steenbras pump station:
  4. That is rich, coming from you, the first to call him: "a has been rugby drol" Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. You seem more like an asshole with an opinion, in my opinion.
  5. My bad, I must have read on another thread how people dont like Joel, how he cant pay his own way, how he ... just read it again yourself. There must be someting wrong, you do not want him to do it. Good on you.
  6. Jeez a lot of hatred and jealously in this thread. What is wrong with promoting a charity? You do know thats why he wears it, right?
  7. "90% rode on 29inch wheels" So ... that settles that debate then. 26ers are for clowns!
  8. Over the years the distance has not been constant. Over Ou Kaapse weg, over Boyes drive, finish in Camps Bay ... etc. Just glad all this excitement over this BIG announcement we have all been anxiously waiting for, is over. Back to your lives and as you were! Oh ... and before we say Whooopla ... HOLD YOUR F@*# LINE!!!
  9. If you are going to be touring through other countries and dont have a clue where to ride ... this it the unit you want!
  10. Known hotspot is the bridge under Baden Powel, just before entering Eersterivier. I got knocked to the ground there a couple of years back. BEWARE!
  11. Have you tried someone like Google? She will refer you to nifty apps where you can manage everything from one app. Everypost Social Sprout Buffer Socialoomph HootSuite To name but a few. Or you can pay me big bucks and I will Google them for you.
  12. Giant step for man, Giant bicycles for mankind!
  13. 80 to 120mm no problem, can find those, PM me if you grow taller. 50mm = problem
  14. Took the words right out of my mouth!
  15. Nope sorry! I did not snort through 15 pages. My beer tastes much better than reading all that crap. I must say this story is more creative than "I had steak"!
  16. Would be great to hear all these scientific facts, which we dont have. At the moment this story leaves me with more questions than answers. If the pharmacist worked with Probenecid the moment before serving Impey (that in itself is very odd already), he would have had to been working with Probenecid in a raw form, would he not? He would not contaminate his hands if the Probenecid had been in a bottle, pill, container or whatever the pharmacy normally stores it in? How much of this stuff would the pharmacist have to have split on his hands to contaminate the next customers goods to such an extend that the customer fails a drug test? Did the pharmacist accidentally soak the empty gel capsules he was selling to the next customer in Probenecid? It the pharmacist hands were contaminated, would that mean that residue would cause trace amounts far exceeding the allowed amount? (This is where the scientific facts would be handy) We have heard some cooked up stories before ... "It was in my girlfirends lip balm" "It was in the steak" "I walked past two guys smoking the stuff" ... this .... smells like one of those stories to me!
  17. We have Sram 7sp gripshift sets available at R235 fot the set. I cant see where you are based. PM me
  18. Service it, dont service it. Your call based on how much you are willing to fork out! Depending on your riding style and quantity, 2 fork services per year should be sufficient. One being a major service and the other a quick oil change, foamring clean, dustwiper and overall inspection. You dont have to be without your bike for a week either, my turnaround time is 2 to 3 days but can be done quicker by way of of beer bribery. Once the damage is done, you have to start replacing parts, that can not be fixed. Problem being that you don't know how bad it is or what is going on inside untill you open it up and have a crack. Yup, this is mud, grit, grime, sand and stones that was still there after I removed the dustwiper and foamrings. The foamrings were so dry I had to tear them out! All that nasty stuff caught by the foamrings and dustwipers did some nasty damage to the stanchions. If you dont remove the nastiness manually ever so often ... it is not majestically going to disappear by itself! This rebound damper of a Sid Brain has been sitting in a mud bath (that mud is supposed to be oil!) for who knows how long. This fork hasn't been serviced in 3 years and buying a complete new one is probably a better option. Your choice. Service and maintain. Or replace and pay.
  19. Dont use a new chain on Magic gear. Magic gear takes time and patience but it works. Had it on a commuter. Had to try 8, 9 and 10spd chains before I found Magic and 9sp worked perfectly. Halflink chains are much cheaper than a new frame and comes in many pretty colours and then you still dont have a sack hanging under the stay.
  20. Try Magic Gear or get a Halflink chain and get rid of the chain tensioner. Chain tensioners on SS's are like tits on transvestites, they dont belong there.
  21. Measuring Tape in cm. Top Tube is the important one
