Dude, the dropout rate at the argus was also different from last year but the route was the same. Difficulty is not the deciding factor when it comes to dropout rates....

It reminded me a bit of Ou Hels, with a sea view. It just became my favorite climb in CT.

We rode Red Hill for the first time. What an amazing climb.

I met one of those idiot motorists today.... My father-in-law and I were riding paceline past Noordhoek on our way to Houtbaai via chappies. My father in law overtakes me to take his turn up front. A motorists comes past and the idiot passenger lady hangs halfway out the window shouting SINGLE FILE. I mean WTH! I also met a few awesome motorist, who let us have right of way, waited at crossings and patiently rode behind is up chappies. Its a pity the one idiot will spoil the good work of 5 good guys.

I think that was you. You were a couple bikes behind me when you dropped. I saw people running to your aid so I kept going. It was funny, yes, but I also know how you felt. It happened to me on krommerhee with the Burger, luckily I could get my cleat out. Everything went super tense and hurt like hell! This time I took a load of Rennies with. I cramped a bit on Suikerbossie, but the Rennies sorted that out for me within a minute. I'm glad you didnt get hurt after that swan-dive!

No complaints from my side. Compared to other road races, the Argus is the best one yet (from timing to organization). I agree with the seeding though, I rode in Z and passed a few 'visible' cyclists with very high seeding and couldnt work out how they got there.... I'll definitely be back next year to break 4h00, maybe even 3h30...

Finally got my time. 04h17. I am officially chuffed. Sub 4 next year

Did my first Argus (with a niggling itb). Was aiming for sub4h30. Good groups formed in Z. Never rode without one. My strategy was simple. Stick with a group until a faster one comes past and climb on. Took it easy on the big climbs and when I reach Camps bay, I knew that sub 4h30 was in the bag (if I dont crash). Finished 4:20. Loved every moment of the Race. Sub 4 next year. My top speed I clocked on the straight after Smitties 68.4km/h - was lekker

Thanks for the advice hubbers. I finished the Argus 4h20 on my clock. Had to take it easy on Chappies and Suikerbossie for my knee, but loved the race. I made sure I was never without a group. The new setup worked beautifully, and Rennies took care of a cramp on Suikerbossie.
