I agree - I didn't go out and buy gadgets (got a hand me down polar from a mate) - playing around with it today for the first time at the gym and as mentioned - I find it annoying. I don't like being plugged in - but I'm also not training - so i don't need to know numbers - so i guess it will be a case of a nice to have if I get money into my account - but I'm not losing money either if I don't make a target.

I hear you - and I agree, i think Disco makes more money from ppl paying for services and add ons that aren't actually using it. I'm just thinking out loud what it would take to appease everyone if they were intent on clean data. With so many apps / devices out there - it would require all the major game players to agree to come on board and have an API that they could use to verify the data. The fact that "edited" data is acceptable already makes it hard for them to know if it's been gyppo'd or not. It would be interesting if you could be a fly on the wall and tell us what the hell is going on and what's their thinking. I just hope that they make sure all their tech works before their next announcement.

Here's a spanner in the works - if they say ok, we're sorry, we got it all wrong and you can have your points, your smoothies, your apple watch - and then a few months down the line premiums increase - obviously to recoup costs - though they'd never admit to that - which would be worse? Most of us would be paying thousands already each month for that R35/week smoothie, the few hundred rand cash back on events / healthy gear etc? It's only been a month since they made the changes - and they sure as hell have been flamed - but so far they haven't backed down. Either way - IMO - the end user is the loser - whether you're a loser with an iWatch on your wrist and a smoothie in your hand - it's not Discovery that's going to lose.

i agree - don't - i'm already thinking of an alternate route to get home tonight. all roads around allandale are a mess i don't get why they didn't just open yesterday during the public holiday. People were queuing outside the Game store since 6am this morning apparently.

An LTG inspired photo...from an odd angle. Had a really interesting ride today, been working on my cadence in spinning, today on flatttish 42 km ride did the spin the legs on easier gear, found I felt out of breathe but the legs kept going for longer. And when they started whining I just ignored them, had I had more time I could have carried on -even did some climbs (slowly but not too slowly) in the big blade And managed to lift front wheel nicely over some things ..progress yah Uni.

no where new but with the changing seasons - even our regular rides look different each time with the colours of autumn - definitely my favourite time of the year.
