  1. I'm easy - whichever helps make up the numbers required. Tom
  2. Same here - just liked the shirt, didn't think about it being the Pascoe colour. Tom
  3. Awesome Put me down for two - I'm not concerned about the colour - its just a good excuse for me to buy a Pascoe.... Sizing - probably XXL - please remind me which brand shirt you are using. Cheers Tom
  4. Sounds like an idea. I've often wondered why they don't make branded kit yet.
  5. Hoping to do it again. Unbelievable venue and ride. Most classic picture I have is of the dude throwing his bike over the side of Merino Monster... The heat was also interesting. . Tom
  6. Howdy Not nice to hear of the experience you've had. I had a few issues with my Revelation and the service I've received in getting them sorted have been superb. On the Epic they did a temporary fix and got the correct parts sorted after the event. Not too sure who the guys are down here in Cape Town, but hats off to them and Revolution Cycles! Tom
  7. Howdy A camper van is definitely on my list for my next Epic. So is the flu jab - I was snotty from day 3 onwards. .. The massage and mechanical packages are a must. Also take cash and credit card I will more than likely be working at the Epic next year, so shout if you want a driver. Tom
  8. Hope you com right. ... Always handy to keep a role of this stuff around:http://www.fiberfix.com/ Tom
  9. I've also got a hankering for a SS now, and have set my mind on one from this chap... http://connorcycles.com/bikes/durt-mountain-bike/ Will have to save for a while! Tom
  10. Howdy My Pyga with XT build and 3x10 weighs just over 14kgs. Tom
  11. Always wanted one of these back in the 80's... Price was a bit much then and still is now! http://www.ebay.co.u...id=639552235741 Tom
  12. Peter Sagan showing how its done..
  13. Would this still be classed as an SS with the Schlumpf... http://cyclemonkeylab.blogspot.com/2014/04/spot-honey-badger-mountain-bike-with.html Absolutely stunning bike! Tom
  14. My daughter has a Carrera Blast, its a great bike for what I paid (170 Squids), tough bikes and they do vary in spec... Carrera is a Halfords brand check the following link for specs: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/categorydisplay_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_categoryId_165499_langId_-1 Tom
  15. Hi Frail. Well done on your return! Tom
  16. Did it on my Camber, it worked perfectly in the front, but the rear wheel had issues in the mud.. Your LBS should have a set of wheels that you can test for clearance. Tom

Hey Barefoot Thought it was you! You did a brilliant job, and as far as I'm concerned you deserve to be able to make a bit back to recoup costs! Tom (605-1)
  20. Howdy If you don't come right up in GP, I can recommend you speak to Chronos in CT - www.chronoswatchmakers.co.za. They did a fantastic job on my watch and may be able to fix it or point you in the direction of someone who can. Tom
  21. Mine was a similar story: originally from my grandfather, then brother then father.. I never knew the watch existed, and when I got it, it had been sitting in a draw for probably close on 25 years.. Discovered Chronos around the corner from me, R6k later it was serviced, new main spring and seals replaced. I deliberately didn't want it refurbed to showroom condition, so still looks as scruffy as the day I got it. I've also decided that it will be worn everyday, if I ever get it valued I might change my minds!! Tom
  22. 1958'ish Submariner. I'm the 4th keeper of this watch in my family.
  23. Hi Dave I've completed Tankwa Trek, Argus MTB and the Argus Tour, Epic and a few others on mine. My partner will probably also get one if he's allowed to do the Epic again next year. And then you can bomb it around Tokai with a big smile on your face if you want. Tom
  24. Hi Riaanoster I've been in a similar situation, and almost stuffed-up Tankwa as a result.. What works for me: 1. Ideally I have found it best to train with what I use in long rides - so that nothing comes as a shock on race day.. 2. I have ditched gels - they cause me all sorts of issues, and have switched to Woolies toddler food - cottage pie and guava/banana - they come in convenient pouches, and are close to puree, so you don't have to chew too much... 3. Try other products if you're not happy with what you're using. I've experimented with a number and settled on the ones that don't give me the squirts - so I now use Perpetuem and Rehydrate in the bottles.. Cheers Tom
  25. Great review. I also have the 140 on mine, it is great. Also running a 22-32-42 x 10 setup which absolutely works for me. Tom
