  1. I've had the internals of my Revelation replaced 4 times in a year - all of this was under warranty (and the service I received with the warranty claims was brilliant). I presume that there must have been a faulty batch along the way, as I've had no issue since last April. Because of the problems, my plan was to replace it with the Pike, but was shown the MRP and it looks like a fantastic piece of kit. Had a 70mm stem - it is very good, but I wanted a more relaxed riding position and the shorter stem definitely gives that and a lot more fun factor (I have come to the conclusion that I am not poll position material so will stay in my allocated postion at the back of every race, and absolutely enjoy every minute of it. ). Tom
  2. Welcome! Fork: Bibi introduced me to the MRP Stage fork. Being the pedantic person that I am, I have read every last review on it, and I will definitely be heading that way shortly from my Revelation. Tyres: shop around a bit - Spaz Butchers are incredible. They stick like S**t on the road, but do the trick on dirt and are pretty cheap. Seat Post: Your bike needs a dropper.... And so do you.. Stem: Your bike needs a shorter one. I've just dropped to a 50mm and the handling is unbelievable. Tom
  3. Yup, I've done Epic, Tankwa, and a few others on mine! Will be doing Epic on it again next year. Busy training to do a sub 4 hour Argus on full fat tyres at the moment - so they're flippin good on the road too....
  4. Howdy If you're only doing the odd stage race and the rest is all for fun and mucking about, I'd head with the Pascoe.. Before I get shot by the rest of the crew on this thread, I'm on a OneTen and it is absolutely brilliant for the mix of short'ish rides and stage races that I do. Will be worth your while to try and get to one of the open days at Karkloof for a spin on all of them.. Tom
  5. In mine at Blockhouse yesterday. .
  6. Rammstein's cover of Stripped (original by DM). Had the joy of watching them perform in Manchester a couple of years back.
  7. I'm easy - whichever helps make up the numbers required. Tom
  8. Same here - just liked the shirt, didn't think about it being the Pascoe colour. Tom
  9. Awesome Put me down for two - I'm not concerned about the colour - its just a good excuse for me to buy a Pascoe.... Sizing - probably XXL - please remind me which brand shirt you are using. Cheers Tom
  10. Sounds like an idea. I've often wondered why they don't make branded kit yet.
  11. Hoping to do it again. Unbelievable venue and ride. Most classic picture I have is of the dude throwing his bike over the side of Merino Monster... The heat was also interesting. . Tom
  12. Howdy Not nice to hear of the experience you've had. I had a few issues with my Revelation and the service I've received in getting them sorted have been superb. On the Epic they did a temporary fix and got the correct parts sorted after the event. Not too sure who the guys are down here in Cape Town, but hats off to them and Revolution Cycles! Tom
  13. Howdy A camper van is definitely on my list for my next Epic. So is the flu jab - I was snotty from day 3 onwards. .. The massage and mechanical packages are a must. Also take cash and credit card I will more than likely be working at the Epic next year, so shout if you want a driver. Tom

  20. My daughter has a Carrera Blast, its a great bike for what I paid (170 Squids), tough bikes and they do vary in spec... Carrera is a Halfords brand check the following link for specs: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/categorydisplay_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_categoryId_165499_langId_-1 Tom
  21. Hi Frail. Well done on your return! Tom
  22. Did it on my Camber, it worked perfectly in the front, but the rear wheel had issues in the mud.. Your LBS should have a set of wheels that you can test for clearance. Tom

Hey Barefoot Thought it was you! You did a brilliant job, and as far as I'm concerned you deserve to be able to make a bit back to recoup costs! Tom (605-1)
