  1. Slakline frames will be available from January 2018. Which gives me a couple more months of riding on my Max before I have to sell it. The sweetner this time for SWMBO is not too bad, I only have to get the outside room renovated and the garden spruced up a bit.. Tom
  2. Slakline...
  3. So did anyone else get an email from Pyga today?
  4. I think we might be. Have asked the techie responsible for an update, will try and see if I can get a sample to test. Tom
  5. Came across this display at our head office this morning - flippin great idea. Tom
  6. Heard yesterday that the warranty on the carbon frames is apoarently being extended to 5 years, applies to frames sold already, and not limited to first owner only. Sounds good if it is true! Tom
  7. Going to be selling my orange Stage Max in about a month or so.. You can always that its blue! Tom
  8. Just bought a Switch HD tv stick - looks like it has Kodi on it. Does anyone have the same set-up and any recommendations on it? Tom
  9. Very nice! Have my eye on the Revel and have been thinking about importing one for a good year or so now. Tom
  10. In SA around August.
  11. Forgot to add, the first bikes will be raw, and size "L" initially. Luckily the daughter has agreed that I can sell her 120 (figure skating is taking precedence over bike riding for some reason!), so she is safe for now! Tom
  12. Put my name down for one yesterday... Still have to tell the Missus... Tom
  13. If you are ever in need of some good SA wine while in Denmark look-up Mats Vineyard: www.matsvineyard.com
  14. pyga_tom is my page name, mix of everything on there from family to bikes..
  15. Headset on my 110 would creak after a while - have a look at that. I also made the mistake of getting a Spez saddle... It bugs the hell out of me with its constant creaking! Tom
  16. Nice. Is that Sunrace the full steel one? If so please post the mileage you get out of it. Tom
  17. What stem have you used there? Tom
  18. Slight thread hijack.... I have a spinning bike with an antiquated computer that isn't good for much other than showing speed, cadence and time.. Is there any suitable Bluetooth computer out there that I could attach to it that would enable me to link it to my Strava account? Thanks Tom
  19. Just to the right in these pics. Will scratch through and see if I got any of him. Tom
  20. My Stage is number 4... Ordered in August 2015. Built and riding 6th of January last year. I am a big fan of waiting for a frame, gives me enough time to look for specials and spread the cost of the build over a year. Tom
  21. You beat me to it - I was also thinking we should give a few peeps on here the opportunity to organise this event next year and see how they cope... For me, the only time I ever get on a road bike is to captain my blind neighbour on this event. Riding to the start with him yesterday was hectic, with all the other drama's adding to the mix I was very happy that they cancelled. As I had a bit of free time, instead of bitching, I took him for a coffee and then went and collected old clothes and headed down to Hout Bay to help out a bit. It was a humbling experience. I left Hout Bay just after two, and the Karbonkelberg fire was still raging and heading towards Llandudno - there were approximately 8 to 10 fire trucks that I could see and the helicopters trying to control the blaze (if you don't believe me search #karbonkelbergfire). Can you imagine them trying to move through 35k riders going up Suikerbossie!! Cancelling the event was a massive decision to make, and it was the right one. For all those posting on this forum, there have been some great ideas and some rather interesting ones... So instead of just posting here, why not engage with the organisers directly? Tom
  22. Very good article. Ive been looking at what to wear and what lights to use for a while now. 1. Strobe is much better than fixed beam. 2. The brighter the better (just common sense this one). 3. Not scientific, but based on my observations, the colour of light used is crucial to being seen... Strobing white up front at all times (day and night). Strobing red during the day on the rear, and at dawn/dusk a strobing white (or blue/orange) on the rear - this from looking at cyclist riding in traffic, their red lights get lost amongst the sea of car lights and robots. Have been doing my usual 5.30am training route up to Constantia Nek usine white on the rear for the last monty and my number of near misses has decreased significantly. Tom
  23. I'm a big fan of them, even although I don't own one. Had my right knee rebuilt twice and heading for my third rebuild... So can definitely see myself getting one of these in a few years time when it packs up for good and the left leg needs a little help doing all the work! Tom
  24. Nice build! Save for the dropper first - all Pyga's should have one.
