  1. Hi All, weekend of the 23rd August, I will be at the champagne resort on a company retreat. I do however hope to get some riding done and would like to know if there are any trails and bike rental recommendations. i have no idea where to even start, The resort website says they have mountain biking but they dont sound very clued up. Any advice welcome!
  2. Easton EA 90 SLX, got a great deal on them, initially it was out of my price range, but that changed. Havent ridden them yet lol! hoping to get some serious mileage on them this weekend. I upgraded from Mavic CXP22, ultra entry wheels and saved 800gsm (confirmed) in the process. Not as Aero as the cosmics, but should climb and accelerate really well.
  3. Those cosmics are really nice, was one of the wheels I was considering myself
  4. Thats what I normally do Thomo, though with one tonner and pretty much doing every fun ride thats coming up in the next month or so, I need bike time. Guess its spinning at gym again
  5. Depends on the grain, depends where the gran primarily is. ISO is also relative to the camera. Colour balance is relatively easy to fix. Cannot speculate until I have a look. JPG's are not as bad as they made out to be, so I would not be too concerned about that.
  6. @ Uni, pm me links to some of your pics, i will advise what can be done. im a graphic designer and a phographer
  7. I have a similar issue actually, Going to try to clean with bottled water, and tighten, if nothing, will return. Still under warrantee
  8. New wheels and an 800gsm weight saving w00p w00p
  9. I struggle to do midweek rides, mainly due to safety/traffic, would be quite interested in how this is handled. (I work 8 till 5pm. Group night riding?
  10. Just out of interest, I weighed my old Mavic CXP 22's on a precision scale as well as the eastons, looking at about an 800gsm weight saving for the pair, though the difference just holding them is quite crazy!
  11. Hi All, thanks for all the response, Though I managed to get a really great deal on a set of SLX, so much so I increased my budget. They look too cool to ignore, here are some pics
  12. my budget can vary, but R6k is ideal. the classics i can get for under 6. i heard the eastons are known to have spoke issues, though i dont know if this is improved in the 2014 model.
  13. Hi all Im currently rolling on a very basic set of mavic cpx22, weighs in at a featherweigt 2.2kg excl tires. im looking at upgrading, weight and aero being factors. i weigh 67kgs and do 4000kms pa atm. options are: Easton EA 90, American classic sprint, cosmic elite S alu. any tips or advice? another option could be used, there is a set of 1.2 kg token carbon tubbies for R6k on the hub as well. thx
  14. absolutely stunning photography!
  15. If you using and are not pro, then you doing it for bragging rights, not for yourself, which is stupid.
  16. In Vietnam. Lotsa bikes. Hipsters will love it Sent via Tapatalk on Xperia T
  17. Slightly elitist opinions here. Hubsters tend to take cycling way more seriously than the 10 000 casual argus riders, or 5000 casual burger riders. Many of which just started riding, or riding their Makro game special. To them a finishing medal is awesome. You have a choice to take a medal or not to take one. I just started riding this year, and am pretty chuffed with each medal as its many first's. Especially the One Tonner from hell. Maybe next year I wont care too much.
  18. Improved by one letter, 0.1 away from an even better one. So fairly pleased. A more realistic beta would have given me that bump, but ill take it One Tonner, despite the time I took, is my best event purely due to beta.
  19. So Burger has a beta of 0.98.... mmmm. very strange. One tonner, 1.61, that makes sense. But the Lagoon Cycle has 1.1, no way the burger had better conditions than langebaan.
  20. Burger got a beta of 0.98. I thought it was quite tough due to wind on R44, strange
  21. Happened to me, in Sea point, early sunday morning. A Jogger no less, flung his door open full blast, no warning, no checking. Considering that the person frequents sea point often, you should think they know better. Was off the bike for 2 weeks, some bad bruising. He offered to take me home/to my car, some damage to bike. Though I think the biggest cost is the nice dent in his door edge.
  22. Contact racetec. Same thing happened to my boet in langebaan, They managed to sort his out without asking for his strava
  23. There was a gravel section on the Tour De Worcester. It was lotsa fun, and I have an agressive frame. It really depends how well they compact it. I think the fresh tar on the Burger was worse than some of the gravel I experienced in Worcester
  24. Entered... Actually excited to do this, some nice climbs too
