  8. I have both an Bikehub and Gumtree add. The WhatsApp makes it difficult to know which add. I rarely use Gumtree due to this type of thing.

  14. Great review Frosty. I purchased the Mega XL for my son last year 2nd hand on BH loved it so much then immediatly got myself the Mega C also 2nd hand on BH. I have also been using wrist based watches for the last few years also the 310 XT and the 920 XT suunto ambit and suunto spartan. i decided to get a head unit for cycling to save the wrist units a bit and also it is annoying having to look on your wrist when riding. the wrist based heart rate while cycling is also suspect. I love the unit. so far i have paired it with , Bontrager Speed and Cadence sensor BLE and ANT+, Garmin ANT + HR strap , Cycleops Powercall BLE and ANT + and Lezynne HR monitor. The bike mount it comes with has a knack to crack , so my mate 3D printed me 4 out front mounts. they work like a charm . DO NOT buy the Lezynne HR monitor. IT is a SCHLEP. You have to remove the battery after EVERY ride as the sensor does not stop transmitting by itself. I cannot fault this computer and it is TOUGH. Battery life is amazing. The app has limited reporting and some earlier versions of the app kept crashing . the latest update is super and just keeps doing it's thing. If you are used to Garmin connect be prepared to be underwhelmed by the Lezyne Ally APP. However the Desktop site gives more details and analysis of your rides. I am curious to know if any body has paired their Lezyne lights to their head units on how that works. You apparently get a myriad of light settings.
  15. Jarryd is one of the smoothest riders i have ever witnesed and yes humble does not describe entirely
  16. Sean i don't know who you are but you seem to know more. I also read the emails this morning as there were several. Yes they asked for collection adress but CC did not offer a NEW crank set as advertised..... It was advertised new and upon delivery was not new. A lame excuse was also given per email that it was mistaken as a new one because there are two in the shop one new one not so new. Then it was said that it was put on a demo bike in a new condition and had to be the sold as shop "soiled" it was clearly ridden unles CC has a rock garden inside their shop. Newby left the crank at lbs for fitment and being clueless had not noticed it as used till lbs brought his attention to number one it requires a spacer which by the way was to this day NOT sent and two it had knock and chaffing/scuff marks. I am giving facts about the story and not fabricating an ill repute... Fact is the shop has been nothing but helpfull rather doubtfull and several versions of why the crank is not new. Do please ask Dwayne if he can remember my phone call when i thought that they were infact linked in some way. Do ask him if he suggested i take this further. Yes our side is one sided because we are the consumers who got shafted and do not want to send back a crank we paid for and want... To pay more for ethe same thing just new...... Which was advertised
  17. yep "overnight " which took 3 or four days and he had to organise collection in cape town to get it otherwise he would have waited 5 days
  18. have been INVOICED out by them. Newby had the piece of mind to ask for an invoice if anything goes pear shaped. I will post invoice here as well
  19. Will take this further in the morning with renewed confidence thanks guys
  20. Newby dearest is probably one of the most soft hearted people i know and they have basically told him to piss off. Convenient seeing we are in the Cape of good Hope.... Punn intended
  21. I am pretty furious for his sake ... I know a few people over at Spez and seriously considering taking this much further
  22. they are tuning him.... Sure if you want a NEW crank we will refund you send that one back and we will INVOICE you for a new one 5 k plus. .... But the add says new....
  23. All that is visibly new are the chain rings... Not a nice way to introduce a newby to the hub , and he was sceptical from the get go
  24. Firstly i am not prone to this type of ranting but i feel i have been a hubber long enough to raise my concerns about traders that are putting thehub in ill repute . I have been trading on here and chatting with a lot of you for years ( formerly known as jeepdude) and it was with great excitement i convinced my my newby friend to purchase a "new" xo crankset at a bargain price of R2999 advertised by a RickyTomCCMA an alias for Concept Cyclery Cedar Square .Fourways? I phoned on his behalf and spoke to a Dimitri who ensured me the crank was of a new bike. My mate took the negotiations further paid and waited an eternity ( it felt like that you all know... Overnight courier a week later type of thing) When the crank arrived and our lbs assembled newby's first hub purchase we realised oops somethings a miss. A spacer.... Ooops. No prob . But then he showed me the crank... Clearly not new! But they said! ..... I said... Newby phoned them and Dimitri kept dodging the question why the crank was not new saying we'll send that spacer we'll send that spacer. Newby mentioned the scuff and chip mark clearly from riding and hitting rocks and salesman says are you sure it's not just a chip? Small scratch. In the end newby wanted some form off compensation like a refund on at least the courier which cost a further R500. But to no avail. To add insult ... He had to purchase a new front derailer ooops my mistake... An dhad to purchase the spacer himself. I was distressed and phoned Concept Cyclery in Durbs to speak to the Standers wondering if they were linked seeing it all started there. Person on the other side handed phone to brother of africanmtbkid and he suggested we go post on facebook Speciallized page if not resolved. An email response from unknown person questioned wether we had in fact communicated with the standers and claimed they will be traveling together whence he will question them about the validity of our claims. When newby phoned a last time to try sort his grievance they threatened him with legal action if he dared go to social media. I am really shocked. Be as it may i was wondering what do the old faithfull hub experts say.... Name and shame on social media or.... Shut up and live with it.consider it school fees. Have any of you purchased from RickyTomCCMA. I include pictures to prove my point
  25. And the western cape gets...........?
