  3. same tyre on a manitou R7
  4. ALLAs not mine !
  5. my GT with DT fork and 650 b... i eventually ditched the fork afraid i would brake it my heftiness flexed this all carbon baby with 28mm stanchions to much for comfort the tyres on here Pacenti Quassi moto's have a high volume and are bigger than Schwalbe's
  6. cannondale flash
  7. blur xc carbon
  8. specialised epic alu frame 26er
  9. i have used Manitou R7 forks with 650b and they have Good clearance , Rocks shox dont work and will never work unless specially made 650b , Fox is the abolute best it has ample clearance and the arch design is just leaves more space. Dt swiss works but it is quite a squeese. lucky i am in the western cape whre mud is rare mostly sandy rocky tracks , so i went with the squeeze must say i had more clearance on a 26er frame with 650 wheels than that 29er.. i ad some 650 converted bikes (not mine)
  10. you guys still going at this...? sheesh
  11. SCOTT have indicated NO commitment towards this wheelsize frame...it is for now purely custom for Nino's Olympic bid... the other components though DT swiss wheels and forks are on their way
  12. i am no authority on bike fit though
  13. i have found you can make a smaller frame work for you but bigger frames you struggle with , just the geometry angles stretches your attempts to make it smaller
  14. BUT Collin does not have a Russian Beauty in his arsenal....... just a local tv celeb
  15. hehehe SNAP
  16. am i correct in saying that it is basically the same service... they source carbon frames and custom spray them to your choice.. i would rather support Collin (local)
  17. from what i can see neither do you have eough clearance in your rear triangle. a 650 ads about 2 cm to your current tire outer diameter
  18. your first problem is your fork.... FOX , DT , Manitou R7 work
  19. the 650b movement is NOT new... it's been a cult wheel size for quite a while allready especially in the states , most conferts are trail riders who ride for the sake of riding and having fun. breathes life in 26 inch duallies.. you won't believe the difference you get when you slap on a pair of 27.5's on your 26 inch duallie! the beauty is that you DONT buy a whole new bike. just a wheel set. ibrought in one of the first wheelsets in the country and rode them on several 26 inch frames and forks. Nino is using a 26 inch frame (EDIT the swiss power team have 650 specific frames) and the wheels fit in the DT 26 inch forks though i doubt he was using a 26 inch fork since dt allready have a 650 fork

  21. most duathlons that are offroad will only have 5km first run and 2.5 km second run. your longest time spent will be on the bike... so swing it all in bike shorts. the transition area is usually pretty secure and once you have entered your gear may not leave until everybody is finished.. so don't be too worried leaving cycling shoes and helmet waiting for you at your bike... if it's a mtb event some people even do the first run with their gloves on
