  1. heehehe now have i put my foot in it... portrait of cycling circles in Hermanus
  2. only PARTS of that trail and the urban assault might be appropriate for a 6-9 year old though
  3. AND if i was REALLY as mischevous as you imply i am i would not even have bothered steering our good friend in their direction or even mentioned the new licensing of the right to ride the trails
  4. i only object to the uninformative implementation of thus and VERY gratefull for the work Jan and his crew have put in.
  5. before calling me a douche bag just acknowledge i also called it a maintanance fee , secondly the way the payment and licence number system was implemented did NOT acknowldege or even notify the rest of the cycling communtiy or Bicycle Shops that have a different customer base to the initiators ie Above mentioned shop. what ATTITUDE ? dont call me names with out a proper back ground or even knowledge of the area
  6. yep! there is a new initiative... seems to me just a money making thing... (i apologise for the mis directed comment) or call it maintanance fee. go to local bike shops , Euodia Cycles at the Engen garage (sandbaai) actually started it , pay them a pass fee and you get a number and key and maps to local routes. or come see me at my non cycling shop
  7. have you guys seen the gravel road this race would be run on? VERY VERY RUTTED!! eina
  8. i have succesfully used my giant trainer with giant 29er and racing ralphs
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=6ZbFz-19jac&NR=1 this how you lead from the front
  10. dope!!!! now you have to change your hub name.... you just ruined my day
  11. another option is the i-bike mount for i-pod and phone. you have a choice with power or with out. it is a bit pricey with power.. but you also get the heart rate strap and cadence sensor in the deal.. the holder is VERY sturdy and waterproof and has an additional battery to supplement your i-device , it screws in place of your stem top cap. http://ibikesports.com/idashpower.html
  12. Powasol will be doing the bike wash @ Ride the rock weekend in cederberg and Tulbagh MTN marathon and Xterra grabouw.. looking forward to seeing you there Klint

  15. as a retailer i admire the shops holding such stock.... wven if just on consignment... i'll sleep in my shop. too beautiful though
  16. ohhhh i envy you Big D!!!
  17. on my 3rd lap i got a bit cocky through those trees and nipped one of the side walls and bought some serious real estate.. ego intact with no witnesses. you get really intimate with the course once you have done a few laps in the dark hey?
  18. i have done it yes. Fox is your BEST bet with the most clearance. i had a dual suspension set up and it felt like i added WAY more travel but i i suffered on climbs. i then had a GT Zaskar carbon hardtail... climbed like a dream on rocky stuff and rolling over rough stuff was awesome.. i tend to look for effecient racing machines as opposed to ALL day marathon bikes... i think your spark upsize would rock
  19. what fork are you running... manitou R7 and fox work even dt swiss. not much geometry change really , you might want to drop your stem by few spacers and extend by 1 cm.
  20. that was an EYE opener... i am stiff! only got there at 4 and started riding 4:40... by 1am i was stukkend! i cant believe the okes managed 30 laps!
  21. i have heard rumour that record quantity entries! i am solo number 35
