  2. Jared, I dealt with the seller before when the seller operated under a different user name. I was very happy with the quality and price of the items sold. Not sure why the seller changed their user name but it seems to be the norm BMC
  3. Thank you for the offer. I will PM when I am coming out that way. I hope I can find one for sale as it's a very useful tool to have.
  4. Yes. My LBS has misplaced their die and I am wanting to place a few more threads on a fork and clean up the threads on another.
  5. Hi all, Help! Where can I buy a 1" ISO 24 tpi die. I have searched and hoping someone in the technical realm could steer me to a tap & die supplier (preferably in the Jhbg area).
  6. Hi Eddy, I assume the BB cup(s) you have in the frame are not stamped 1.37 x (English) or 36 x Italian? If you have removed one of the BB cups and the other side is stuck check the diameter of the cup removed. Eng cups are smaller than Ita )+-34.8mm for Eng and 36mm for ITA. Another easier method is to use another set of BB cups with the ENG 1.37 x stamped. If the cup screws in it's Eng, if not Italian. Always remember for Italian the "righty, tighty and lefty loosely". Post a few pics or call me for assistance.
  7. The seatpin and saddle are original although the collar does't look like the original.
  8. The C40 with its original Colnago seatpin and C40 seat collar and Record group should sell at about R25,000 but look at offers from R22,000. The Mega Master about R7,500 to R9,000 The above is merely my personal opinion
  9. Yes, I will sand the seatpin down if I don't find a 26.8mm
  10. Whilst we are on seatpins, anyone have 26.8mm seatpin like this to swap for this 27mm?
  11. I can assist. I have a rare Nitto 65 post. Approximately 270mm from bottom to seat rail
  12. I always try and provide feedback but found that if a seller removed the ad I wasn't able to provide any review. Also if a buyer bought from me after contacting me by phone.
  13. You need some new hoods
  14. Bob Jackson of Leeds England - Reynolds 753 racing with Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset 2nd prize imported unrestored at Eroica South Africa May 2022
  15. I can probably assist with the Mavic rims (wheels) if you can wait a week (I am on my way to Eroica). Whatsapp me a pic of the mismatched wheels you have.
  16. Happy Birthday J and well done Eppie! Looking forward to seeing you at Eroica in May.
  17. If you use YouTube, search for Buffs Vintage Bikes and view one or two of his clips for tips in restoring your bike.
  18. Hi Diedrich. This is not a Maestro frame. The brazing quality on your frame is poor when compared to Rod's work. All Rod's frames had RAM and serial number stamped on the BB and in certain instances the degree angle, i.e. 73.
  19. To get the job done properly take it to a specialist. I have no affiliation to Steve or the company but they came recommended to me. http://www.smartcoprojects.co.za/Contact_Us.html
  20. Probably worth between R4,000 to R7,000.
  21. Hi Styvie. There are two larger groups (other regional groups too). The main one is about 250 member strong and is a general group with diverse base of members both local and offshore. The other is about 120 members and is only a buying and selling group, no chit chat and discussions of your dog snoopy. DM with your full name and telephone number and I will assist you join the groups.

  23. Me and you both. I have a Gemini track bike and pursuit TT low pro.
  24. These Battaglin frames were all manufactured with Columbus SLX tubing as far as I know. The frame was chromed and then painted in a process known as cromovelato. The paint looks almost chrome like. The problem with a cromovelato finish is that the paint is easily chipped and cannot be resprayed in South Africa. I have owned a similar frame and have another Pinarello Montello. The Dura Ace STI's are later to the age of the frame (1988/89). In my humble opinion the price for the frame and fork in the condition as this one would be between R4,500 - R5,000. This excludes the components and wheels. The Battaglin is a great frame to ride, enjoy.
