  1. Dear Western Cape....please take note of what is happening in KZN
  2. In other words...buy a Transition!
  3. Hairy - very much of LIKE
  4. Well...they (On One) now do the Codeine and a DH rig too. However, one should look at the Cotic Rocket for steel full sus sweetness! As for weight, I think I have been able to get mine around the 12kg mark with a Lyrik...it all boils down to spec choice. The only pricey animal attached is a 2nd hand XTR crankset, otherwise everything else is pretty normal so to speak. And yes, the Summer Season punches waaaaaaayyyyy above its category! Makes many a dual sus look silly on the trails!
  5. Its time to start a new trend - 1.8inch Continental Ignitors with permatubes
  6. I very much hope you did not paint that thing of beauty.....?
  7. Excuse the error there: interchangeable dropouts = wheel size change flip chips = geometry change
  8. Naturally
  9. Head angle can drop right down to 66deg...very #duro
  10. Haven't had the pleasure of the Phantom yet - but that is a 120mm front 105 rear 29er. Spitfire is 160 front 140 rear Rune is 160 all round Bonus with Spitfire and Rune is their ability to run 26 & 650b wheels by simply switching out the flip chips the frames come with. Also allows you to tweak the geo...
  11. Chat to Dirt Merchant or Fade to Black, they will be able to answer that question. It is an awesome bike...been "nicknamed" at times an aluminium Nomad. Loves the steeps and the DH. Rode the Spitfire as well, a more suited bike to SA IMO. Climbs well and descends as well as the Rune, in a lighter package.
  12. Kona would get my vote. Others are either too heavy, too expensive, not enough squish
  13. Chop! Good luck with the And Go part...
  14. Ha! Tell me something, travel and performance of that fork? And go....................
  15. Top work Ewald, always a pleasure reading and viewing your work!!!
  16. If you paid for the damper, I would make it a point of getting the damper.... cause it aint a cheap thing that.........
  17. Yip, that specific one that likes to play all things suspension!
  18. Yes sir - did a bit of digging, its the RC2L. Thankful it is not the 2 Step, not the best design those....but does explain some idiosyncrasies about the fork. Don't me wrong china, I dig the fork! Works an absolute treat. And kind of happy with the L part too...
  19. Yip, Droo made up a custom spacer to get it to 6"...works a treat! Whoever sold you the fork originally with the DH damper - go back and kick them in the shins...damper is the RC2L...sadly.
  20. Buy a dropper - you know you want to.....sell a kid or something!
  21. Best part about a single speed - weather conditions don't matter one bit!
  22. 32x18, yes I would expect you to be a bit biased!
  23. Shot, however too late DomP - go check the build on the Dreamy Long travel hardtail thread.... The Beast is getting meaner! Dropper on a HT just makes so much sense, as well as allowing one to push harder on the DH
  24. Right, the finalized and completed Beast! Was a single speed for W2W but now has received longer legs and badder attitude: On One Summer Season RS Lyric RC2L with Mission Control Damper - custom spacing to fit frame DT Swiss 5.1 on Pro2's KS LEV 27.2 dropper XTR with stainless 32T, cSixx mod'ed Carbon guide, 9spd XT cassette with "tweaked" Zee clutch RD on SRAM 9spd X0 shifter Dartmoor 65mm stem with Funn Full On 750mm bars Cannot wait to get out there are thrash the beast...
  25. A long overdue post... The Beast in all its long travel W2W filth!!! Beautiful! Some nifty bits: On One Summer Season Fox Float RLC 150 TA KS LEV 27.2 Dropper WTB Single Duty rear hub Blackspire ISCG tensioner Charge Spoon saddle However soon to be bigger and geared!!!!
