  4. Hi Hubbers The King David Linksfield cycling team is teaming up with the Diepsloot development team on a cycle to durban next week, Leaving on monday 5 October, returning Friday 9th. The aim of the cycle was to raise the profile of cycling in the diepsloot development team as well as in King David School and the money raised will be split and go to the Diepsloot team and King David sports fund. We have a fair amount of publicity including a slot on the radie (think its 702) and newspapers. We are hoping to get sponsored by various companies on either a donation basis or a set amount per km. ie is a certain rider rides 400km, then a sponsorship or R10/km will be made. Even anything as little as 5c/km will be appreciated. If you could possibly be interested please contact me ASAP because we are hoping to get the companies logos on the shirts we are making for the event and those are being printed on Friday. jjcesman@hotmail.com Josh Cesman (King David First Team Cyling Captain)Capri Wheeler2009-09-30 02:08:54

  8. thought the marshalling was very good! glass and waterbottles not bugging me, we live in Africa....but there was one turn (cant remember how far in) but you hit a T-junction and turned left and there was so much sand you almost had to go to a walking pace to be safe... and at the end going down to the finish, about last 5km the pace was high cause of the very negative steep decent and the road was narrow cause of the yellow sign barrier things. I wasnt there but was told that in a licenced category on of the very strong contenders crashed into a barrier at high speed and snapped his handlebars. Dont want to say names cause dunno if he wants this to be public knowlege.
  9. yay!!! there my boys!!!
  10. very interesting cause at my club one of them had tried out a JHB lab ride and they said it was so strict and the marshals kept the group together properly and came down on those not obeying laws,,,,
  11. sure he's happy. last sprint at the tarlton (wilro 100) arron just lost in the final sprint to Christoff Van Heerden (MTN Energade). Lange was NOT happy to say the absolute least. goos to know he still got it
  12. is you're going to race, its ALL in the wheels!
  13. Was thinking about the tip of week-about putting fishing line between your fork above our tire to take out small stones and glass to prevent punctures... quite creative but maybe bit risky. what your thoughts - anyone ever tried this?
  14. they do that in some races. Have a timing mat along the route somewhere to see if they cross that in the long route Guess it aint cool when you have people with rediculously low seeding indexes
  15. wel i would say you have to way this up. Would you rather finish comfortably in every race or kick ass in most races and then maybe not be able to finish in one or two due to punctures. Put sealant in to make sure if you get a puncture it doesn;t mean the end of your race.... thats from my side, tubbies are the only way!
  16. hahaha!!!! i actually received a pack in the mail a few weeks ago. had NO idea why i got it and now i see this and remember....
  17. take it to a shop and let them check for cracks if its carbon. If alu, ide ride it
  18. absolutely brilliant! If i knew it was happening I would have e-mailed someone in Tel-Aviv to take pics for me and then I would have uploaded it here for a great laugh. I think we should do something like that in SA as we have lots more cyclists here and more traffic risk than in Israel
  19. poorly cared for bike! cassette a bit dirty, probable needs replacing
  20. hmmmm.......ide say not worth it. My dad used to ride a bike like that till someone decided he should ride it rather than him and took it for himself. Its not worth it! I had a bottom of the range HARO (real pece of sh**) and i couldnt ride his because it was like a dog.. Do yourself a favour, you CAN resist it!
  21. I wont lie that I used to enjoy hanging onto trucks that came by with guys I rode was. Was really fun. Then once i saw the break lights come on and i wasnt expecting that so wont be trying that again! Often see people taking a truck ride on Atlas road, benoni
