  1. If you got the cash at Hand ide say WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING WITHOUT DEEPS?!?!?!?!? I put on the eastons on my training bike and felt the most amazing difference. Weight is better (they tubbies) and the biggest thing i find is the acceloration. Probable wouldnt be able to keep up with or initiate my own breaks without them! They are my prized possession and sleep with me in my room (rest of stuff in dusty garage) What category are you?
  2. I race 16s. I train at the top (coached by tariningbible.co.za) and hard as I can! Kicked carbon, I believe that 100% because I know on my Trek when I had Bontrager Select wheels I passed Cervelo R3s in the 94.7 but when these guys are all training at the top and they are a fraction of my size (im a genetically big boy, dont have much fat on me but still large and heavy) it helps. To get away in the attach on deepsection tubbies is unbelievably easier that on my Bontrager selects!!!!
  3. Dunno what cr420 are but do you race licenced?
  4. YAY!!! thanks for the GREAT pics ronelle! You got some of my bois - Adler twins...nice pictuse of aaron in his cyclab kit on scott on the first page labelled "junior boys"
  5. My argument is that equipment DOES make a difference!!!!!!! I train on my trek with cheap wheels and then I race WIth My Raleigh LTD (Carbon Frame, Full Dura-ace. 7.2kg). On my Trek I try sprint and I get frustrated with the acceleration (none). Then I get on my babay (Raleigh With my nice wheels, Easton tempest II Tubbies) ANd I barely touch and it FLIES!!!!! perfect for attachs in a licenced bunch... EQUIPMENT DOES MATTER!!!
  6. for people who ask this question, i put on racing wheels (R30000) onto my trek 1500 (R11000) for my first licenced race and I came out with one phrase "whoever says that equipment doesn't matter is speaking the BIGGEST load of S&%#!!!!!!! I would NEVER have held onto that pack if it weren';t for the wheels.
  7. would buy campy super recrd if i wasnt the one paying for it!
  8. wow, then you must be working like a demon!
  9. more or less same weight.....I researched a bit and I think they are actually the exact weight... The Zipps with their dimples are more aerodynamic in a cross-wind but they crack in half if overpumed.... they really nice wheels both of them. I ride on eastons and i love them but go for price if that is the factor. Just buy second-hand though
  10. haha! great pun
  11. very nice!
  12. youre not missing anything. People just cant accept that the rural-dwellers voted ANC because of the PERSON and not the party. Nothing was rigged. And JPW, you say where are the 4 million other ballots, they all have to be counted by the IEC, even split ballots have to be counted. And there werent 4 mill extra ballots because 22 million registered voters does not mean 22 million people voted, a LOT less than that actually did
  13. anbody seen the one with Meal "A" and meal "C" and the chick says we cant only have "A" and "C"
  14. my coach always tell me to recover first. If you are addicted give it a gentle spin in zone 2 for 45 minutes (preferably on Indoor Trainer if you have one)
  15. Jules you legend!
  16. may I ask - "what is the correct photogenic position for cranks?"
  17. love the line CSA does not exist for us but exist due to us
  18. What happens if I'm a Gauteng boy.....can I still go?
  19. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. i agree, a few pumps now and again from a normal pump is FREE! dont know anybody who rides without pumping tyres for a year! and anyway IM changing tyres constantly or flying for races so I need to deflate the tyre anyway. I guess somebody just thought they had found a nice gap in the market. But a good product is one that SELLS...good luck to them
  21. post a pic when you done.....wanna see what it looks like or post the wheels, want to see what "shiny" or "colourful" looks like I love the colours. Saw the 2008 RC LTD (bright yellow and blue). Thought it was perfect for my loud personality
  22. cant agree with you there porky i'de consider myself serious. the way one trains is you work on volume and when you get closer to the event you want to peak for, you work more on speed (anaerobic). Can only peak for 2-3 weeks. After that, you become overtrained Last year i was overtraind. Its horrible! Need some SERIOUS resting. I would recommend going to a sports physiologist, or maybe a coach. I went to a physiologist and she got me into perfect condition for my race If you in JHB, PM me for her number. Works at Linksfield Clinic sports department
  23. works like this....you train aerobically and you push your lactate threshold. When you peak, you work on anaerobic....
