  1. anyone know who the Basso agent is in SA
  2. Trek and Spec do have great back up service, in fact I think the only two in SA where your warranty actually means something, I just cannot get my head the humpback look, why could they not use straight tubes, nothing sexy in a trek at the moment,
  3. in so many ways a Spec makes sense, If you do have an issue with these unique brands the warranty is such an issue, you crack a spec and you will be on a new one within a week, and race proven. starting to lean towards it
  4. Im sure the Trek is a great bike, But that whole hunchback look does not do it for me, just so oversize, all the elegance has gone
  5. Hi have been waiting since November with a deposit down on a new Colnago V3RS, I don't think Colnago knows what day of the week it is, March became April then May and now's its, we just don't know situation, could be 2023 or later. any recommendations on a similar bike, I just cannot be another dude on a S-Works Ideally Dura Ace 12 Speed wireless, Tubeless, 28 C tires, Disc and integrated cable, size large, preferably new or very new Do you have anything or a suggestion, Budget R180K
  6. it was not a PPA event???
  7. Yes, I was thinking the same, there was a water point here and the 45KM guys should have ridden up Malanshoogte, and 60km straight over to Hoogies, I asked all the guys at the water point if we should not be going up the road and not one of them had any idea, I did not want to spend the day behind the backmarkers of the 60KM so called it a day, I'm betting many of the 45km riders did this extra milage
  8. Want to put a dropper on this bike , however does not look like it is drilled to take an internal dropper post,BB area also looks rather small anyone done something like this before , thinking it may have to be external?
  9. My Wife is English , so her folks come out about three times a year, but with Covid this Donkey express has slowed, i do feel for guys in SA without an overseas connection, but saying that I have ordered many parts on Chain Reaction and had them shipped straight here, Would you have any recommendation for buying a complete bike overseas and having it shipped over, anyone with first hand experience, I do have my eye on the new C64, if I could find a reliable and trustworthy international online site I think i will pull the trigger on this
  10. No Sure if anyone has had the misfortune of trying to deal with Roubixcycles, you get better service at Home Affairs, how on earth has Colnago allowed their brand to be represented my this bunch of idiots.
  11. Ok dont waste your time with Roubaix cycles, emails sent last week already, only one call got through, of many, sent the details as requested nothing, tried calling, all the numbers not answering, how do businesses like this even survive, in fact why are they even allowed to trade. cannot blame guys buying online overseas
  12. Hi Guys can anyone help, Im looking for a C60 and CX Zero rear derailer hanger, anyone have any idea where I can get these.
  13. Im very interested to know how these guys are going, I was to the right as they went down, the noise was terrific, we must have been doing around 55KM at the time, i got pushed into the gravel on the far right, if this crash happened when the Taxi and then the 4x4 where long side us it could have been very bad, not worth thinking about
  14. who are you insured with
  15. just love this race, camped the Friday night, what a great arrangement and well managed, great food, great breakfast, perfect campsite, toilets and showers spot on, tonnes for wood for the camp fire. will do this for sure next year. Big thanks to all the support staff, everything was perfect,
  16. I hope not, what does CSA contribute, we should all follow the Swartberg 100 route and get these events going without CSA
  17. Gob Bless PPA marshals, lets get them back and make cycling great again
  18. This is the entire foundation of this thread, the dangers and alternatives, not that you have contributed, we are discussing option on how to make it safer, 180 Elite riders cannot ride in single file. but you will not know this, why do I get the feeling we are speaking to some overweight dude on his mountain bike, in pink lycra with a 5 litre saddle bag
  19. you obviously have no idea,
  20. picture below of the $ Group, it displays the size on the group. I think it is easy to complain and I was just as disappointed by the parking, from what I have heard many places like Stellenbosch do not want these cycling events, they have been told not to bring them to these towns, they bring no income, take up all the parking and cause major traffic disruptions to the venue, I’m sure it’s getting difficult for organizers to find suitable venues. In the 1990 all races started at Constantia Village or most, heading up Constantia neck, down into Hout Bay and then Chappies, many routes, the rotary roller comes to mind, but the shopping malls and Constantia village no longer wanted the cyclists and it all moved to the flat lands. These races in Duranville are dangerous, the motorist has no tolerance for anyone but themselves, they are not willing to slow down, the road belongs to them and them alone. In groups like $ yesterday, the peloton echeloned to the right lane and even moved right into that yellow line, if you don’t want to get dropped you have to follow, that’s the choice you have, if a car came over that hill it could have wiped out that front of $, I fear another accident like this could end it. Cyclists are running out of suitable venues and our battle to cars will only allow one casualty.
  21. Is this the dude in a blue old Mazda 323, I did a race a year ago, he pulled right in, cut everyone off and starts shouting he will cancel the race if we go over the white line, you need to be careful who you give authority too, some guys just cannot handle it
  22. he is not giving it way, he is asking the ticket price, jeepers os
  23. Im in $, we have two race number sfor our backs, a seat number and a handlebar number, im running out of real estate on my bike
  24. +27 82 492 6002 call Brian if you want an entry, he cannot do it
