  2. Wow, glad he is oaky and they got the guys' plates I have always been paranoid about parked cars, now I am just afraid of them
  3. Good Morning peeps, I had a great experience from Cycle lab Lynnwood this week and mainly thanks to Phillimon Sebona [Workshop Manager I believe]. Going back to the start, I bought Hayes Stroker Trail brakes from a friend the other day and the hydraulic hose for the rear brakes was too short because it came off a Medium frame. So the search began [last Saturday] to get a new hose to install the brakes on my bike before this weekend [Race on Saturday and Sunday]. I went to maybe 10 shops in and around Pretoria trying to find a new brake hose, but no luck. I even considered ordering a hose from CRC and waiting the 4-6 weeks for it. On Tuesday, knowing that they don't have stock of what I needed, I went to Cycle Lab to have a look at their "universal" braided hose kits, but no luck. Phillimon suggested that he will phone the supplier and hear if they might have hoses for my brakes. Just my luck, Cycles Africa [supplier to many LBS] had only 1 hose for the Hayes Stroker trail and it was 1900mm, exactly what I needed. He phoned me a few times with updates on the order and price to make sure that I get what I need. On Wednesday, Phillimon had the supplier 'overnight courier' the hose to me from Cape Town and it arrived yesterday afternoon. Good to see that people will go the extra mile to help you out! Thanks Phillimon and Cycle Lab for the great service!
  4. Am I the only one silently weeping at my desk because I have to work for 6 more hours before I can ride??
  5. Yeah, like most people, take your bike in for every little thing you cant fix yourself = Cost over time is super high OR Initial high cost to buy the tools... and you wont get screwed over by bad service from Bike shops...
  6. Food for Thought, If you cant climb the hills, you need more power. I also weigh 92kg and I'm 1.96m so losing weight seems to be an option. [i'm not fat jiust saying ] Alternatively you can just get stronger. Lighter guys fly past me because of Power to Weight ratio...
  7. Damn, and I though the Trailseeker events had bottlenecks...
  8. Yeah, always seen the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 [Act 68 of 2008] as 'Good idea' rather than LAW...
  9. Because saving 4% is just too much
  10. Still want these brakes for freehttp://i.imgur.com/3EEFVRu.jpg?1
  11. Let me chime in here... I used to smoke a pack a day for the last 7 years. Granted it is not like I smoked for 10-20 years like the older chaps here. Man up and stop smoking... You take your pack and you throw it away. If you really WANT to quit it will be as easy as that. 3 Months clean now
  12. Sounds about right... http://merida-bikes.com/en_gb/cms/2767/en--sizing

  14. WTF?? Where will this end? An exact location would be great and time of day. Hope he recovers soon!
  15. I put a set of Maxxis Ardent 2.2" for training. On my race wheelset I slapped some GEAX tyres on and they are running GREAT! I have the Mezcal 2.1 on the back and Sagauro 2.2 in front. Rode the Magoebas 44km race over the weekend and they held up quite well in the mud and rain.
  16. I'm there! Lets get this organised I forgot I'm not here the Sunday
  17. Hi Guys, Thanks for getting this out to the media! Great work on the interviews and if you need help, you can count on me.
  18. Good Luck with the interviews!
  19. I am so glad that you survived! Hope you a speedy recovery...
  20. Great to hear the cyclist is oaky - well considering what happened. Do we need to start carrying firearms now? I mean shoot back in self defense and we will probably be the ones getting locked up... What a great justice system
  21. OMS hope he is oaky...
  22. Yeah there is no reason why the best cyclists should get Retul fitment. I imagine that the 5 minutes on the internet with some generic measurements work much better... o_O
  23. I went to Bike Basement in Joburg on Friday for Retul fitting. What a useful and necessary exercise to every cyclist. I am fairly new in the sport, but I cant see going without it. I was experiencing pain especially my lower back, but after the tweaks and new settings to my bike, its a dream. I did the Nissan Trailseeker #4 half marathon over the weekend and no pain [during or after]. The new setup works perfectly and I even improved my 'climbing' abilities and power output. Worth every penny!
