  2. HAHA Brilliant!! Well done sir
  3. HHAHAHAHA Best reply ever!!! HAHAHA
  4. Damn, wish I could ride like that
  5. I think you should do more climbs.... hehe
  6. Novatech Flowtrail in 29" and they are awesome. A bit heavier [100 g difference] than initially advertised but they are truly impressive. Done maybe about 6 races on them and all I hear is the steady buzz of the hub. No issues with buckling or anything. FYI I put mine on a Momsen Alu hardtail and that I am 92kg so they are tested well... Another thing to remember is to buy rim tape because the liner it comes with will not get you to a tubeless conversion. The wall of the rims are quite aggressive as the tyres seated with a foot pump.
  7. All true except I don't have children
  8. Retul Fitting! The end of all butt-pains
  9. Strava > Create Section > Make Public > BAM! Create Challenge > Time Frame = 356 days Leaderboard App Redundant <3
  10. Joh, was a though one, but some awesome single track. Not really a fan of a 'lap' race, but it was diverse enough so it really didn't bother me. Kudos for the organising and route marking was great, aside from 1 or 2 places. Oh yeah, more people at the water points to assist the fast guys. I had to stop anyway, but the guys who wanted to grab something on the go were not assisted fully
  11. So keen! It's going be my first 50 km race
  12. ...But falling and getting roasties is part of the fun... Started a few months ago myself and EVERYONE falls at first
  13. Good Day guys, Not really a Rant more than a nostalgic rave. Yesterday morning at just after 6:00 am we took the bikes out for an early 40 km easy ride in Pretoria East. We rode out past St. George Hotel, through Irene and a loop around Waterkloof AFB. At about 7:40 am, we reached the R 21 - Solomon Mahlangu crossing, hungry craving a hot cup of Jo. We heard a while back that Mimmos opens at 7:00 and thought to test the rumours. We sat down and was served a nice light breakfast by the friendly staff. Quite a value for R 20.00: Coffee, 1 slice of toast, 1 Egg, 2 strips of Bacon and Grilled tomato served on lettuce. The owner said that he is happy to see cyclists popping in early, and he is in the process of constructing a bike stand/rack with access from the street so that the cyclists in the area can sit outside, within view of their bikes, and have a quick coffee or breakfast. Next time you feel like going for coffee after a ride, check them out... Mimmos Waterkloof Ridge Shop #21 Waterkloof Lifestyle Centre Cnr Cliff & Muskejaat Streets Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria
  14. My goals, to go 8/8 on the MTN Full Marathon series and finish Sabie Classic under 4 hours...
  15. Then you have had more fortune than me my friend. My towbar was halfway in front of one of the letters and just short of begging, he still fined me
  16. Yes I believe any obstruction of Number plate = R 500.00 fine on the spot. You can't argue your way out of that one with the Oom Polizei...
  17. MOMSEN... hehe great value for money and the frames are good geometry for fun riders and people who want to take if a bit further... Merida is also great starter like the Silverbacks and Mongoose bikes. You can also pick up some GT and Gaints for that price. Measure yourself, go to a bike shop and tell them you want to feel how it sits, etc. Then make up your mind
  18. Wow was looking forward to this sale and I'm not disappointed...
  19. HAHa I think Solomons work like Cajees, the price is only to fool people who don't want to bargain. You are supposed to tell the Indians what you pay them
  20. Well you Ride the 76km circuit and then the 45km one. So just add it together
  21. Hope that Taxi driver suffers some horrible painful anal cramps causing his genitals to retract so that he cannot further contaminate the world...
  22. FYI the Colombia Thin Air race will be the Dullstroom Classic
  23. Have a look at Chris Willemse Cycles, they ship anywhere in RSA and shipping is free for orders above R 1000.00 Just make sure that you have the correct size, then you can just order and it will arrive in 2-3days. http://www.cwcycles.co.za/
  24. Have a look at the Classifieds section, they have some great specials from time to time. Other than that, you can have a look at something like: 1. Momsen AL029 R 5700 2. Gaint Revel 3 3. GT Karakoram 4. GT Avalanche 3.0 5. Merida Matts TFS 100 All these bikes are between R 5 000 and R 7 000 depending on where you buy, and IMO great for starters. I started a few months back with a Momsen AL229 and its great! In the beginning you fall a lot as you learn to ride steep off road hills with cleats, so you don't want to mess up nice parts/frames.
  25. Do you see it as a way of getting fit and having fun, or trying to place well within your category?
