  1. Since I went 1x10 on my MTB my downhill speed is severly limited. I miss my old Big Ring :-(
  2. TV here are showing highlights of all the stages today. I've just come home to see Stage 7 (which I didn't see on the day) with 35km to go and they are flying! Very impressive :-) Ok it looks like the average speed for this stage - Milau - Lavour - was 47.5km/h
  3. I managed a good 65km/h for 10 minutes on the flat, tucked in behind a tractor/trailer on a smooth straight road..... Perhaps not my smartest move, but I enjoyed it at the time.
  4. Where have we heard THAT before!
  5. The race has been just up the road from us for the last 2 days (well within driving distance anyway) and I'm too tied up with work to have been able to go :-( The Vuelta is due to pass through Ainsa though - so that's going to be good :-)
  6. I wondered if that would happen when I saw it.
  7. yep
  8. :-( 5 in the final sprint then . . . .
  9. 85km/h on skinny road tyres before. Don't think about "the worst"
  10. Yep.
  11. Be great to see this work out!
  12. One guy, walking along the road with a knife in his hand, can help himself to someones pride and joy and ride off on it without a care in the world. That's ****** up man.
  13. Actually, what I wrote isn't quite right. "My attitude towards work is simple. "Turn up on time, work hard, be honest & be pleasant, and do that bit extra whenever it's needed....." More accurate would be "Turn up on time, do a good job......"
  14. Bonus

    Who remembers?

Knight rider for me. Tried to get my dad to let me fit LEDs to his car back in the day..... he just said no.
  15. I do love it :-) Working outside has far more pros than cons as far as I'm concerned! Today my contract was extended 'til the end of September. Numbers of visitors are low now and to be honest, the boss could easily have just put me on "day-work", but he didn't. At the begining of the year, back in mid February, I was the first person to start work at the Campsite. During lockdown I was told that when work was allowed to resume I would be "the first person that comes back to work" (and I was) and now I'm the only person with an extended contract. My attitude towards work is simple. "Turn up on time, work hard, be honest & be pleasant, and do that bit extra whenever it's needed....." It's taken a while, but I'm finally winning the family over :-)
  16. There used to be a guy on a British cycling forum called Badger who was teased mercilessly after posting a photo of himself destroying a bike tyre with a track pump. The thread is still a legend all these years later..... and this video was in it.
  17. Heavy vehicles that are notorious for leaking diesel and hydraulic fluid as a matter of course!
  18. I can look up at Ainsa Old Town any time I want to and remind myself of just how lucky we are living here!
  19. Some pictures from "The Office" . . . . During the Lockdown the boss got me a "Permission to Work" letter based on the fact that he needed me to work so that the campsite would be ready to roll once Lockdown was over. It was strange to see the sight empty in June - the family have been running the place for 30 years and have never once seen it like this during the season before......
  20. Wasn't this car carrying sponsor "VIP's" ??
  21. Those last few meters were actually beautiful to watch . . . .
  22. Yeah I realized when they showed a replay of one rider telling another to slow it down.
  23. Ouch! He looks ok - that could have been nasty!
  24. Is the stage neutralised or are they still racing?
