  1. Or?
  2. Are you looking for something like this? Maybe there are better ones out there, but I believe hub bodies are usually just replaced, so not sure if you find an exploded diagram for them.
  3. Have you got sludge/sealant in the wheel? Might have hardened in one spot and is now throwing the balance off.

  5. WARNING: SPOILER COMING!!
  6. Sho, not sure hey, wasn't greatly impressed with the last season, am a fan so will continue to watch, just hope it improves.
  7. A lot of new seasons starting this month. What's everyone looking forward to?
  8. Hahahaha... Bad hey. Stopped watching after the second episode of season 2. The book was way better, although also not the best ending.
  9. Goodness, that man is not well!!! But then again I assume that the gopro pole is hiding the safety line.. :whistling:
  10. I learnt this very quickly after doing a shuttle day at Contermanskloof, countless downhill runs with not needing to pedal back to the top.. I was knackered of note the next day, more so than when riding the loop twice on my own steam, muscles hurt I never even knew existed..
  11. Isn't there a list of rules including this one somewhere on the hub? Clearly he isn't a member...
  12. Actually, just look through some of these..!!! Ever had that feeling of falling while sleeping? Check the campers! http://www.earthporm...defying-photos/ Edit: Sorry to kinda hijack thread
  13. Lol.. how about? http://cdn.earthporm.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/DeathDP-1.jpg
  14. Looks cool, but think I'll stick to two wheels.
  15. Polished maybe??
  16. Cool What was the problem in the end?
  17. Really good idea!! Maybe one of the below sites will be helpful in sharing planned routes..?? http://www.tyretotravel.com/ http://www.plotaroute.com/ http://www.sharemyroutes.com/
  18. I have a FusionX shock and did the same thing. If you place you fingers on the bushes between the pivots and pull up on the seat and then drop like you did you should be able to feel which ones need to be replaced. Bushes for mine was less than R100. They seem to be one of those wearing parts that need to be replaced every now and then.
  19. Sickening!!! https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/142857-cyclist-down-on-van-riebeeck/
  20. Fair enough.. Was just a thought.
  21. This is great, started doing my own servicing of late and have been looking for something like this... @Chukky I invested in a torque wrench and seems it needs to be maintained/serviced and also calibrated every now and then, so might not have been the specs that were wrong, maybe the wrench was over tightening.. Edit: Most click wrenches are built with an internal spring mechanism that is compressed to against a lever. Adjustable wrenches use springs that must meet a linear capability test. After use, externally adjustable click wrenches should be turned back to minimum scale value. This helps to preserve the linearity of the spring and calibration of the wrench. All calibrated wrenches should be backed off to the minimum setting when stored.
  22. Serviced mine the other day as it was sounding and feeling a bit rof, stripped it down, cleaned it and replaced bearings, lots of little shards of metal come out of it but luckily no pitting. Seems to be working fine now, so not sure where the shards came from. If the pedals turn while the wheel should be freely spinning it could be that the bearings are catching and hence turning the cassette..Did you perhaps not over tighten it when reassembling? If the pitting is on the race (polished looking section that the bearings roll on) you will need to replace the hub as it keep eating any new ball bearings you put in and eventually totally die on you. Don't think the Shimano ones are too pricey..
  23. I believe with wider bars and shorter stems you get more feedback/control when it comes to steering. Also not so twitchy.. Heard its also better for breathing, widens your arms and opens your chest.
  24. So true, when I first walked into my LBS I had no idea about the jargon or what setup I wanted. Or every time there was a squeak or something feeling wrong on my bike it went back. Over time you get more comfortable with 'tinkering' yourself and checking what that little squeak is and what happens if you adjust this bit slightly more and in turn you become more in tune with you bike and know what it can and can't do and if that squeak/knock should worry you while headed down the trail at 60+kph or not. There are the frustrating learning curves though like when you are so proud of yourself for stripping and service your hub body and getting it back together, but then it doesn't turn, doh!!! Only to realize that you put one too many ball bearings on the one race... LEARNING CURVE!! But two of the....make that three of the best assets you will have in the this game is 1) this wonderful resource of The Hub 2) Youtube!!! and 3) patience. You will not look back.....
  25. Yeah!!! Bought mine for R13k and insured it for that.. 6 months later emailed the specs without the name of the bike to 5 dealers to get an idea of replacement value to update my insurance. Cheapest replacement came in at R28k and most expensive at R32k... So ja, you do get bang for your buck!!!
