  1. Yes, in the Hemel and Aarde valley. Close to where the Parkrun is held.
  2. Just had to mention it somewhere, but believe it or not, myself and 3 other cyclists were attacked and robbed this past Saturday at about 10am during peak time. Apart from me being stabbed in the leg, we got away alive as these guys were quite aggressive. As they normally do, they took all our valuables, including wedding rings, GPS and watches. This happened in the last km of our 4hour ride on our way back through the Bloekoms. Thanks to the farm watch, the neighborhood watch, Afriforum and other community watch organizations they caught the 2 guys after following them with a drone. Was amazing to see their dedication. They could recover the phones, but no Garmins or wedding rings yet. If Someone stumbles upon a Garmin Edge 530, Garmin FR 255 or similar. Please hand it in at Hamilton Russel or Hermanus cycles. Needless to say, I will definitely carry some sort of pepper spray or pepper gun for the future. Also.... these buggers cost me some Strava PB's not being logged😒
  3. King Cycles in Worcester also have 3 pairs of unboxed cleats on their shelf. Ask For Johan
  4. Did anyone have success recently with any Garmin battery replacement? I have a Edge 530 that is due for a battery replacement. Where do I go? Navworld? Garmin SA? or my "local cellphone technician "?
  5. Broke the spring on the right side pedal.
  6. Over the weekend I managed to bust my right side pedal of my favorite Look S-track. Now, with this much loved pedal not being sold any more, it leaves me wondering if the time has come for me to transition to a new pedal type. The reason I loved the Look's so much has been the ease when clipping in, the durability and the float it provides. I have done a short stint on XTR SPD pedals but it caused me too much knee pain even after a bike fit. I've seen the Time Atac pedals has quite a loyal following. Could they be the best alternative to a Look S-track? Alternatively, if you see a pair on a shelf of a bikeshop somewhere, please let me know.
  7. I bet this could have been communicated a week ago already...
  8. If someone were to seriously injure themselves on the now unrideable trail, in the woods, with all this mud and water rushing everywhere, a medic will have a very slim chance of reaching him and provide emergency medical attention.
  9. A friend of mine finished yesterday. But as a second time finisher he was quite disgusted at the Cape Epic organisers for the disregard for rider safety on stage 6. On stage 7 at the top of Botmanskop he passed a rider laying on the ground that supposedly had a heart attack, with a blanket covering him......
  10. Can't they look for new routes in new areas. The cape epic is losing relevance if they are continuing with this.
  11. Any Reviews on the Marvel Cadence and speed sensor from CWC/cycle lab? https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/marvel-speed-and-cadence-sensor
  12. Any Suggestions on protecting my new Rondo Ruut CF frame. I've heard something about Ceramic coatings being done. A company that Alan Hatherly is involved in. Anyone know of this? Otherwise recommendations....
  13. I see Garmin's servers are down since yesterday. Hopefully they get it sorted come tonight 12pm :|
  14. Quite like the merino stuff from PedalED, a Japanese brand. https://pedaled.com/eu_en/#gref They have some solid reviews and the clothing looks impressive as well. if only our Rand was stronger and we can get them locally....
  15. Looking to replace my XO1 Eagle cassette soon due to wear. The sunrace mz1x looks like a solid replacement. Any Thoughts? Reviews?
  16. Going with a Ardent Race 2.35 in front with a Ikon 2.35 at the rear. With 80% of epic on home ground (on our farm as well) these tires have survived the past 2 years without problems. Then again, touch wood.
  17. I'm not an expert on suspension but I also have a new Spark 910 and struggled with the same issue. My LBS sent the fork and shock away to Omnico for inspection and they did an upgrade kit and some adjustments. Also try tightening the barrel adjusters on the twin lock. The Suspension is not supposed to lock out 100% but should not bob if you are out of the saddle. I've had some further issues with both the FIT4 fork and shock which the Fox agents can't seem to fix. Hopefully a solution is around the corner.
  18. Pleasantly surprised at the amount of spectacular single track in the area. Routes was tough and technical but rewarding. Lunch and drinks was spot on. Will definitely be there in 2018. Hope to see more numbers at the next addition.
  19. I think this justifies a post Stoked!!!!!

  22. Baie Lekker roete gewees, behalwe vir die verkeerde afdraai vroeg in die 71km was alles baie goed, goeie waterpunte en lekker uitdagende roete. Sien jule volgende jaar weer...
  23. Iemand wat hom gaan doen??
  24. Hi I'm going to California in October to attend a summit, but i also want to visit a few places that will be interesting for a mountain biker like mtb museums or headquarters of popular mtb manufacturers. Do any of the Hubbers have experience of these places or any suggestions?? Looking forward to your replies...
