  1. Smurfy

    DC Team

Are there any DC MTB teams taking part?
  2. Hi, thats why I said keep some gas in the tank, the last 10km will get you if you are in your CHOPS. Dont under estimate the down hill from the top of Nieuwoudts Pass. No free wheeling, you will need to peddle. Last year I had a soft tail this year my Ass is gonna feel it on my Sola 1.
  3. Lets talk next week regarding a lekker long ride. We normally ride to Franschoek via Helshoogte and back to Brackenfell. 105km trip with a brekkie. Usually on a Sunday. You can PM me if you are in.
  4. I put it in its flopped holster that I use to carry it on the inside of my trousers. Pancake holster. Very soft like cloth.
  5. Nice to meet you Pietro, I`m CZ100. Nice and compact. fits in my jersey like a hand in a glove. Not visible at all.
  6. The strtch is too long, about a kilo. The shacks are very close to one another and the road into Khayamandi in not close by. Gonna be difficult to catch them. Best is to fight fire with fire. Me thinking of a 9mm (which i carry when we go that way).
  7. You would have to hide in their shacks as the other side of the road is an open field.
  8. Sounds like an awesome ride you got planned. Sounds like an awesome ride you got planned. Enjoy Bastile. Who cares about spelling, we live to ride and ride to enjoy and make new friendships.
  9. ON a 100km Mtb or more I take Dry Wors, banana and GI32 Tubs.
  10. Try Saterday, looks like a lekker group of riders. Some fit and almost fit.
  11. Will go look for it.Tx. By the way we are doing the green and red on saterday at 7:30.
  12. Did miss the chat. Was wondering why nothing was posted on the site today. SORRY.
  13. Post the route. We are going to do the Bottlery Hills Green and Red routes(about 60km with about 1400m of climb) on Saterday in preparation for the Burger 60km. We are going to ride the Eensaamheid route to Durbanville on Sunday(about a 100km)
  14. Will want to join the group to see how long I can last till you drop me.
  15. Will look out for you. I have a Neon Giro helmet with a SMURFY at the back and will be wearing the RENAULT shirt again. Did the race last year with 2 bottles and made a point of stopping at water point 2,3,4,5. Wanted to see what my time would be with all the pit stops, with the Karoo to Coast race in mind. Wasnt that fit and did it in 5:30 with stops. Just remember that there is no such luxury as a lekker down hill once you get to the top of the pass. You still need to peddle down hill. Did the karoo to Coast in 4:31 with one stop, no camelbak and 2 water bottles.
  16. I DONT KNOW HOW FIT YOU ARE. IF LIKE ME YOU ARE AVERAGE THEN I SUGEST THAT YOU DONT START TO FAST.( GET CAUGHT UP IN THE HYPE AT THE START.) ITS CONTAGEOUS WHEN THE RACING SNAKES RIDE BEHIND THE TIP TRANS TRUCK THROUGH TOWN(NEUTRAL ZONE)
  17. VERY WELL STOCKED. 2 WATER BOTTLES WILL DO UNLESS YOU WANT TO RACE, THEN YOU NEED YOUR CAMELBAK. iT MEANS THAT WE DONT WALK HERE... :w00t:
  18. BIANCA HOLTZKAMPF-MAYER mugged in Khayamandi on Saterday. She was cycling with MAROESJKA MATTHEE. SHE WAS TACKLED OFF HER BIKE AND ROBBED. Happend around 10 am. Front page of DIE BURGER.
  19. Keep some energy in the tank, he last 20 km back is gonna be tough. Remember that just before you enter Town they make you turn left for a 10km fun ride. O yeah and dont forget the last Hill with the notice board that says HIER WORD NIE GESTAP NIE. Make sure you take a dip in the Pool afterwards. Enjoy and C U there. PS take a buff to cover your face as the vehicles that pass kick up a lot of dust.
  20. They mugg you at Khayamandi and the Welgevonden Robots. Its about a kilometer stretch. Gonna be difficult to spot that.
  21. jIP, THEY HAVE HIT THE FARMS SINCE LATE LAST YEAR. CLEVER CRIMINALS, CANT CHARGE THEM FOR ARMED ROBBERY IF NO GUNS ARE USED. SO IT IS NOT A PRIORITY CRIME. SAD BUT TRUE.
  22. KHAYAMANDI will always remain a hotspot. Not even the so called security guard that was posted could deter the criminals. There is also a SAPS shop meters where most of the bike jacking takes place. Sorry to say but U WONT STOP IT. SAD BUT TRUE. Just stay away or ride via the R44( Cloetesville). You can even go up Devonvale hill and go down from JC Le Roux to SFW in Stellies. (ALWAYS RIDE IN GROUPS WHEN GOING PAST KHAYAMANDI) iF YOU HAVE WOMAN WITH YOU BUNCH THEM IN FOR PROTECTION. :nuke:
  23. THANKS, SEEMS THAT IT MIGHT BE A MATTER OF PREFFERENCE.
