  6. Enduro is about having enduro events (and terrain) as well.....
  7. Man, that Canyon is something. Pitt we don't get them here .... Like most cool bikes.
  8. Maybe it's the dirt roadies? You get people complaining about the terrain up here in Gauteng in the 30000+ entries races, I mean WTF, it's mostly flat? If you can't handle the terrain, it tells you that you suck on your bike and need to practice more and develop your tech skills! I bet the girls riding the trails overseas will kick more ass on hectic terrain than most dudes here in SA, including myself.

  10. Awesome concept! Great to see more enduro events popping up
  11. missed the first one, now the second one will also be missed .....oppikoppi....
  12. BIG BALLS for this track
  13. So a FF helmet is required for all classes?
  14. I started out with flat pedals.....7 years later, and I'm still loving it. I can not even begin to tell you how many times in the last 7 years have I seen guys/girls at local races falling down on rocks, climbs and the odd downhill section while being clipped in. Even the XC dudes 'n ride with who have been cycling for a few years still moer down every now and then because their clipped in. I think it must be like swimming with a cannon ball attached to your foot
  15. Cool. What is the length of the track? Time?
  16. On the FB page there is a "Sports Class" for beginners/trail bikes. Do they ride on the same DH track?
  17. Show me, where?? How much do you guys take for spending money? (ie. lunch, beer etc.)
  18. This trip looks totally doable! If you don't have a AM bike (like me) it would work out cheaper to hire a bike there than to buy a new AM bike here. Hiring a bike for 2 weeks looks like it would roughly work out to R10k (http://www.toricomorzine.com/bikehire/). I know it would be better to have your own bike, but if you don't have the cash for a new rig, and really want to do this trip, it looks like hiring would be an option.
  19. LOL! Great post!

  21. JEEESH! Ah, ***k it. Reason I was asking, if had to drop the cash on a new bike, it would work out less if you had to buy it overseas (not including the import tax raping) and the options are basically limitless compared to SA. The only other option seem like you will have to book a trip there then buy the bike, ride it a few times then bring over as "luggage".
  22. Is the trail a coming down from the top of Klapper kop?
  23. Question: If you have a mate in the UK, can you send him money, let him buy a bike there for you then, DHL the bike to SA as a "gift"? Or would you still pay import taxes and all that jazz? How much would it cost roughly to DHL a bike to SA?
  24. love the paint job on this one! http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb8437218/p5pb8437218.jpg
  25. What runs do you use for enduro? Downhill section @ Oom Piet? That thing can get scary with all that ruts, fun though...
