  7. Did this race a while back (2011) don't know how much has changed since then, I also did the 30km 'race'....
  8. Just enjoy it...period! After all, that is what we do it for, right?
  9. bunch of wankers!
  10. Ok - to report back on the problem I had, it seems like the teeth on the middle chainring was too worn to fit with the new chain, so I had to replace the middle chainring.
  11. LOL! I hear you! I still think you will get people who are interested in those bikes, we must pull the wool from their eyes and open their minds... there is more to mtb'ing than 29'er XC bikes.
  12. .....oh, I walked into 2 LBS's in the Pretoria area over December holiday who are supposed to be Trek dealers - none of them could offer me a bike with more than 130mm travel - it had to be ordered & imported over a 5 week period...pfff
  13. Just too bad that none of the 3 LBS's in my area stock proper baggie / quarter sleeve etc. type of clothing (ONLY FREAKIN LYCRA) and also no Five Ten type shoes if you know what I mean? So it leaves you no choice to buy online because the range in most SA cycle shops are so limited! The mountain bike market is only getting bigger, why do 99% of our shops not offer us a wider range to cater for those who want to explore other avenues (ie. non XC) within mountain biking, and lets create a market for that then? I got some proper Endura shirts that a mate of mine imported (at a heavy price), luckily I don't have to worry about getting new cycling clothing in the near future.
  14. Anyone here doing the Enduro @ the KZN Cycle Fest (12 Jan)??? If so, please report back with some info on the event, vibe etc. Planning to do a few Enduro's this year but will unfortunately miss this one
  15. HELP. PLEASE! I replaced my SRAM chain (10spd) on my bike. I measured the chain to the same length of previous one and fitted it. When pedaling it skips gears on the middle chain ring - it sound quite hectic, almost as if the teeth will break off? When selecting gears (smallest cog on cassette & smallest chain ring in the front the chain seem to have a very loose fit? I then removed another link and still have the same problem with the gears skipping on the middle chain ring. What is going on here?!

  18. WHAT THE HELL IS ENDURO? http://www.pinkbike....is-it-2012.html
  19. I see the web is buzzing of new 2013 Enduro events all over the world and they hype seems to be even bigger this year. Are there any developments on the South African front regarding Enduro for 2013? Is there a big drive for it in our country or are we lacking terrain for these events? Looking for something different & more exciting this year, and from what I have been reading up on the net and videos I have seen, Enduro seems to fit that bill. I will definitely try to do some of the Enduro events that Nigel is planning... What is your thoughts on this new format??
  20. Mine - a while back @ Groenkloof. I underestimated the depth of this mud pool... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VGa-Mg8sXY
